I used to fish Black Sole and Gigant Squid for sushi. Back in the day like 2 years ago, I'd make 150~200K a day fishing for 3~4 hours and crafting for about an hour.

Now there's only profit in Sushi if you can HQ, and even then, hardly any profit since you can list 5 plates of sushi at noon when there are only 2 stacks on the AH for a decent cost, only to have 50 other stacks show up in the next hour, driving the price down by 2~3K a stack from undercutting and making me facepalm myself for once again thinking crafting was a good idea.

Generally I find that I make the most cooking by varying my items pretty wildly based on demand. Or even cooking more than I intend to sell and holding it on a mule until there's little or no stock. For example at any given time I might have on my main and 2/3 mules:

Coeurl Sub
Hedgehog Pie
Warm Meat Broth
Panama Au Lait
Tonosama/Shogun Rice Balls
Yellow Curry
Pet Food Zeta

There's good profit to be made in all of those if you're able to post items when there's little stock. The trick is to have enough inventory on hand for a bunch of different items - that way you're bound to be able to post one or two of them for decent profit. Doing it this way I can easily clear 150k-200k/day, although I can't off-hand tell you how many hours I spend farming/cooking. Not a ton, definitely not more than 4 usually at lot less.
