~Hi

Was just on the general forums and someone stated they make 800k-1mil per week on cooking. Now this could mean spending an hour a day cooking or for the hardcore 16hrs a day.

My question is, taking into account all the prep time of procuring materials and the actual synthing time and possibly sending items back to a mule to sell what would you say your hourly "profit" rate would be?

Also taking into account the time it takes items to sell.....how much can you actually make per/hours investment?

I just cant see making this kind of Profit on Decent selling items....no matter how much I search the AH for gaps in the market.

Thanks
Kamarth

I used to fish Black Sole and Gigant Squid for sushi. Back in the day like 2 years ago, I'd make 150~200K a day fishing for 3~4 hours and crafting for about an hour.

Now there's only profit in Sushi if you can HQ, and even then, hardly any profit since you can list 5 plates of sushi at noon when there are only 2 stacks on the AH for a decent cost, only to have 50 other stacks show up in the next hour, driving the price down by 2~3K a stack from undercutting and making me facepalm myself for once again thinking crafting was a good idea.

Its quite possible to do that and more per week with cooking. However in my case it means spending all my time cooking, no meriting, no campaign, no exp'ing, etc.

Generally I find that I make the most cooking by varying my items pretty wildly based on demand. Or even cooking more than I intend to sell and holding it on a mule until there's little or no stock. For example at any given time I might have on my main and 2/3 mules:

Coeurl Sub
Hedgehog Pie
Warm Meat Broth
Panama Au Lait
Tonosama/Shogun Rice Balls
Yellow Curry
Pet Food Zeta

There's good profit to be made in all of those if you're able to post items when there's little stock. The trick is to have enough inventory on hand for a bunch of different items - that way you're bound to be able to post one or two of them for decent profit. Doing it this way I can easily clear 150k-200k/day, although I can't off-hand tell you how many hours I spend farming/cooking. Not a ton, definitely not more than 4 usually at lot less.

Depends on situation I guess. Currently on Gilgamesh there are no Fish oil broth jug for BST. Yet they are usually a fast selling item.
I think you can get a few to sell if you are fast about it.
Or you may not sell anything, people may be playing with synergy thingie.
