My fishing has rocketed in the past 10 days and I've gone from level 33 to 48 and made a fair amount of gil from bluetail and cone calamary in the mean time. Since I like to have a chance at skilling all the time when I fish, and I'm not bothered about profit anymore, where's the best place for bluetail onry?

All those are the 'best' place to find them, but which to choose from those 4? I'd prefer not to do the ship since I like to fish whilst doing work and I'd probably end up missing the boat.

If you're "only" going after bluetail, then Buburimu is probably good. Sarutabaruta will likely have other things bite.
Take the boat. For your convenience, it sells the minnow lure there which you can use to catch it with. You will also catch noble ladies which can be turned in for profit and also gives skillups (that caps at 66). It's great, and you'll have company some of the time too.

That's right, the Sea Horror only wants to be your friend. Next time just walk up, don't sneak up on him you wouldn't want to scare him, and just give the Horror a BIG hug!

I'm trying to keep the same Minnow lure until 100 <.< I haven't lost a lure yet and I've grown attached to it <3.

If you want bluetail only, fish in Qufim Island at the pond. Minnow and Halcyon Fishing Rod recommended.

This is correct. To be more precise, the 'pond' is in the center of the map where low-level parties slaughter worms in a circle.
