Anyone consider using Red Lotus I/II as main weapon skills? I'm rank36 GLA, with capped STR, and base INT of 16. My Red Lotus II was doing 65% dmg comparing to Spinstroke (when mob is facing me). Last night, I tried add INT up to 61, keeping the same STR, I was able to get Red Lotus to 75% dmg comparing to Spinstroke. I use Stygian spikes to keep my mp up. Considering Red Lotus is 100% to hit, Spinstroke is more like 70% (I have only 5dex!)... Does anyone think Red Lotus is good to use?

Due to the TP cost, for tanking, Spinstroke is the only TP skill I use other than Shield Bash and Phalanx... RLB is a nice weaponskill, and against mobs weak to fire maybe, but, with the TP cap, and how much damage phalanx can do, SpinStroke is just so much better for the rare occasion that I lose a mob. But I duo... So my cover is pretty specific, and easy to maintain. With a full party, or soloing, maybe, but small parties, I can't see a use for RLB other than the fire damage bonus.

Yeah, I've leveled a few classes for cross class skills and my bar is so complicated and packed I don't really have room for Red Lotus Blade. All of my WS's are somehow linked to increasing my survivability and ability to tank save for Feint which is a must have in my book. I don't even have room for Phalanx anymore unless I'm in a party with a buffer (will be adding that back in soon)

I'm also very disappointed in RLB II's damage. I'm guessing that INT does play a roll in the damage as you suggest but I can't justify raising INT just for RLB and thus, it isn't a very useful skill. I'm interested to see what happens if I use it on a char with pumped STR and INT, I'll try it on a mule and get back to you.

If it's acc you are worried about you're much better off getting feint imo.

Buffing your Fire affinity should affect Red Lotus Blade, but I am sure how much. I have not seen any high rank GLD use this, nor do I use this myself because it's kinda garbage. Definitely keep Phalanx for soloing or anytime you're tanking because it's awesome: no stamina cost, not 10s cooldown, extremely cheap TP cost, good damage.

The weapon skills I use are: Phalanx, Feint, Skull Sunder II, and Howling Vortex. Skull Sunder is amazing by the way; it only costs 500 TP, is fairly accurate, does great damage about as much as Phalanx/Shield Bash, and adds a DoT on your monster for more damage. Feint and Skull Sunder II are used for all my DoW.

Right now, the only reason to use RL is for Great Buffallo(Tarb Useige), to cripple its legs and make it drop down.
Other then that, I saw no real reason to use it all.

I buffed, and probably capped, just fire when I started and the damage on RLB was still nothing special.

I am parking my LNC at R10... Can someone tell me how much dmg Feint does comparing to Heavy Stab please, thanks.

Umm, a lot more? Probably 2x the damage, maybe a little less.

Red Lotus sucks, IMO. It uses mana, is crap damage (compared to other TPs, probably due to low INT and but Fire stat is at 100). Either way, it isn't worth the slot, except to use it to disable mobs.

Spin Stoke, Howling Vortex and Circle Slash are basically my bread and butter 1kTP attacks. And of course Shield Bash and Phalanx I use all the time as well :)
