We've had breakthroughs on the Marauder forum through some testing: Strength is our accuracy modifier!

I'm wondering if anyone has tested something similar for Lancer? Reason I ask is because I'm thinking of starting to level up my lancer and hoping I can just port my Marauder build over.

If anyone knows, please do share!

i ask this question myself everyday..
here lately iv just been doing STR & VIT and still dont see a difference from not using DEX, SE or someone extremely smart needs to figure this out so we know how to build our characters.

& what is with vintage scale mails?
these things are 1 M + on my server
& the stats are horrible?
the stats on haubys ARE WAAAAAAAY better and they cost like 60k..

are looks really taking a hold on peoples actions and gil that badly..
if thats the case, im going to be in a world of stupid players.. stats > looks

I know stats are more important than looks when it comes to performance, but, people seem to want to look a certain way to fit their toons persona. I hated how in FFXI you had to wear certain gear to be accepted into parties or whatever. 1 mil is too high for the vint. mail.

Why not gather mats and ask an R50 Armorer to synth it for you?

And how did you test this?

The fact that you don't put dex into your stats doesn't mean that STR is the modifier. It means, as a lot of people have been discussing already, that Dex only increases accuracy by a minute amount. And really it is better to spend that extra points into VIT because it has more of a benefit. Really in the end, if you play a PUG you'll want Dex in the end as Simiam Thrash is based after evading an attack.

Also A lot of ffxi was style based, why not ffxiv? :D
Anyways at, 37 both my Str and Dex are capped, so I would rather wear something that looks nice :D. And Vintage Scale is only 500k on Figaro, and still looks great

There are tests on STR that seem to indicate the caps for STR and VIT/MND are not the same. Saying your STR is capped based on VIT/MND numbers is most likely inaccurate. But that's besides the point. Funtionality over looks any day...

Sample sizes posted in the MRD forums are almost non existant, and are hardly conclusive of anything. If you want to get accurate numbers you would need samples of thousands of hits fighting the same mob (preferably with as little level variation as possible but the closer your sample sizes tend to infinity the less this matters as a factor) In my own small (10 samples of 100 hits with varying dex levels, 2 at base, 4 at 80 and 4 at 100) the base dex had abbysmal accuracy at <40% (from these ten samples I believe that both the positive and negative effects of high and low (respectively) dex are capped at a certain bonus/penalty percentage), at 80 dex I saw an average of about 55-65% and at 100 it goes up to about 65-75% accuracy (against yellow dot thick shells at 29 and 30 half of each performed at each level). This is in no way a conclusive test just a minor study I did to see if people saying DEX did nothing were more than just rumour mongering, I may try and do something more along the lines of a real study, but chances are that dex effects on accuracy, evasion, parrying etc. are based of the P-dif of your DEX vs the Mob's. As such the results will likely vary depending on the type of mob in question.
