I just looked at Muscle Memory, Asceticism and Mind Over Matter and really don't see the point in them, can someone maybe explain why you would get them? They reduce your physical stats and pump you magic ones, wheres the logic? I thought i might be missing something, so am I??

I think those are there just for someone who wants to play DoM class after lvling a GLA to high lvl and is lazy to relocate all the stats, so I think those skill books are the ones that ppl will not put on their priority list.

my 2 cents

I haven't gotten one yet, but I'm heavily curious if they will apply the stat bonus even at high numbers.

Consider the number of points it takes to push a stat 5 points, and compare to just equipping one of those abilities.

I'm too lazy to look it up, but what jobs have Guild Abilities that are beneficial to GLA (+VIT, +STR...)?

Self Preservation from the Gladiator's Guild is a must have, and Heavy Slash is probably good to have.

As BratscheChen said, those are intended for people who want to play DoM. They are somewhat important because they allow you to put quick points into MND, if your LS needs you as a DoM class for a certain event. We can only reset once every two hours and only a restricted amount of points, so it would be nice to have those abilities as a quick adjustment. GLA's priority should be Self-Preservation and Heavy Stab, followed by Heavy Slash. Heavy Stab hits hard, is more accurate than Heavy Slash and utilizes less stamina than Heavy Slash.

Kind of hijacking the thread but I was curious to know if self-preservation applies to aegis boon as well.

OT: As for Essential party skill I focus on skill that will help me keep hate and then skills that will reduce the damage I take. My absolute essentials are (at rank 16: Provoke, Taunt, Phalanx, Aegis Boon, Defender, still precision. Eventually when I can get them, I think that obsess, self preservation, heavy slash/stab, prime conditioning, intimidation and possibly accomplice will be invaluable.

I also throw in Concussive Blow, Moonrise, Howling Vortex (usually set that as my 1 WS) Shock Spikes and occasionally Stoneskin and cure depending on who else is in the party and the difficulty of the fight as those are all very valuable.

Other interesting combintions I'm thinking about:
Murderous intent + Shield Bash + Haymaker + Fracture + Phalanx (Low TP High damage build)

Spinstroke/blindside + Raging strike + Ferocity (high Damage Ws to help pull hate off of another character)
