Since nobody really knows how to get mass SP anymore, I figure that rank 50 is way far away for me (What was once possible in two weeks is possible in, god- who even knows. 10ksp/hour sucks).

Well, does anyone have a video of Chaos Thrust? If it looks anything like Simian Thrash, it'd look hella awesome. Also would like some damage reports on it- like "Normal attack = 100, chaos thrust = 600 damage 1500 TP 5 second cooldown". Is it also animation cancelable?

I'd like to see this as well. Halp us rank 50 LNCs. Need some motivation to keep playing after being horribly outdpsed by supergeared ARCs.

Multishot = 350x3
Quicknock = 250~300x5
Trifucate = 250~300x3....

all before I can even run over to it and hit it :|

This is what lancaster said on Bluegartr:
Quote:
Chaos Thrust works as advertised. It's a 6-hit weaponskill with each hit calculated separately for accuracy and damage. Individual hits do about the same as or a little less than a Light Thrust on R60~70 mobs.

From the video description:

slaughtering a few R45-R49 blues with chaos thrust, with and without self-buffs, just to show what it looks like. as you can see in the clip, each hit of chaos thrust was doing about 50% of a light thrust -- however, when fighting at-level or stronger mobs, the differential between the two shrinks drastically. when fighting R60~R70 mobs (grass raptors and velociraptors), chaos thrust's hits deal about 80-90% of the damage of a light thrust.

my stats are shown at the end of the clip. i'm using an R28 weapon, iron lance, for the purposes of demonstration.

That's the opposite in coolness in comparison to Simian Thrash! >:|! It looks like a WS filler skill (Much akin to Raise and Revive)

And based on the damage log, it looks like it will do ~4x damage since they do slightly less than light thrust.

So 2000TP for ~4x damage. Probably a better ratio than 3k Doomspike 2, but still not super cool looking.

Thanks a bunch for the video :). The WS looks awkwardly mediocre, but it's not bad or a must have anymore.

Speed Surge, Feint, and Chaos Thrust are the three reasons why I chose Lancer, and I'm pretty happy with that decision.

I picked it for the

1) Good damage. Not as good as archer, but still solid damage. Way better than any other class. (Besides archer).
2) No arrow management. I wanted a DPS, and I didn't want to carry 50 stacks of arrows with me (Now not really an issue, but before it was a big big issue)
3) Mass enemy manipulation. Stuns, disables, TP cuts, TP wipes, healing debuff buff things (if that makes any sense)
4) Ally buffs. +Added TP, +Small heal on hit.
5) You get to stab things. And I don't mean gimpy Gladiator tank&stab, I mean stab stab.

None of these really changed. I just hoped that Chaos Thrust looked a little... cooler. I'm definitely going to pursue lancing more. Seeing Simian Thrash got my hopes up about the R50 WSes.

It reminds me of Raise. Raise = Generic cast, and when it hits the end of the bar- nothing. At all. It's like a spell fizzle / spell interuption.

Stupid question: Does Ferocity/Raging Strike/Bloodbath/Blindside/Hawk Eye buff apply for the entire WS or just the initial "hit" of 6? Same question for the life steal proc on Life Surge.

I would assume the entire WS - but you know SE....

Edit: I hope the animation is just a filler/work in progress. Heck just add 1 hit to Penta from FFXI ;)

Hyvää päivää! (fixed it for you, but thanks!)

Hyvä päivä simply means "a good day", while hyvää päivää means "good day (to you)".

Back on topic: What's your primary WS @ 50?

Feint / Heavy Trammel / Moonspike II / Twisting Vice / Chaos Thrust, for the most part, depending on the situation, how much TP I have available, etc.

I intend to rank PGL to 44 for Follow Through and MRD to 36 for Maim eventually.

I've heard Twisting Vice is great. Heavy Trammel? For the AoE dmg?

Twisting Vice is used not for its damage mod but because it completely wipes out a mob's TP, which makes it a great interrupt or preemptive countermeasure.

Heavy Trammel is one of the most efficient WSs in the game, and its damage mod is higher than Skull Sunder's (at least without MRD affinity, which I don't have).

Heavy TRammel has, as far as I can tell, is exactly the same as regular Trammel, only in linear AoE form.
