Unable to Guard :: World of Warcraft

I am so confused right now. I was playing yesterday and in the midst of my playing the guard ability, along with all shield abilities, became greyed out. I cannot figure out why this is. I thought it was possibly due to my shield being heavily damaged (it hit 1 durability remaining) and thought maybe I could not use the abilities since it was "broken", so I got another shield and the abilities were still greyed out. I tried switching to another class and back and I still cannot use the guard ability. I am GLA R25 and this is the first time that this has ever happened. Was there anything with the patch that would cause this to happen?

So, after looking around other forums I went to SE's support page to contact them and found that they have posted known issues from the patch earlier today:

- There are times when the offer status on Guildleve is displayed improperly and players are unable to complete the quest.

- There are times when action icons are grayed out and unable to initiate them.

We apologize for any inconvenience they may be causing.

Looks like this is a patch issue. Hope they resolve it soon... I kinda miss using my shield.

I encountered the same problem 2 days ago. I figured it's probably a bug and I simply relogged and that fixed it.
