Hi all, I'm sure most of you have macros to switch your jobs, but I found out the other day that you can use a macro to trigger a series of attacks in succession; here's a macro I made that I use to start a battle. Note: I'm only job level 8 / physical level 10.

I bound the macro to Alt + 1

/action "Light Shot" <t>
/action "Light Shot" <t>
/action "Light Shot" <t>
/action "Light Shot" <t>
/action "Raging Strike" <t>
/action "Puncture" <t>

The <t> tells the macro to use the ability on the selected target.

I use 4 light shots to compensate for an expected miss/evade during the sequence. So far this is working pretty well, and doesn't seem to lag because the commands aren't being triggered by mouse/keyboard clicks.

Does anyone else have any macros they use for battle?

Havent tried any combat macros yet, just class swapping ones.

How does your macro work, does it put all those skills into A queue, or does it execute one then read next line of the macro?

I don't know with 100% certainty but I think it's doing one line at a time. I've read that the macro engine was designed to not execute the next line until the previous line has completed. I haven't done a lot of testing with it, but it seems to work pretty well.

Had a little play about with this tonight and it does work very well :)
I put in a /echo just before the TP shot so I could check the pacing, and yep 1 line at a time.
Gives very smooth firing rate at the start, and makes a nice little opening combo.

Noticed a couple of other little things when engaging with macro from passive mode.
You dont get the animation for the first shot.
If this is actualy negating the delay for first shot or not unsure.
You dont get a visible action bar, or stamina bar.
This is because it doesnt auto lock on stays the circle target, I just hit enter after starting the macro to get the lock on.

Macro once triggered seems like it will go on to the end, pressing another attack key wont cancel it.
Whilst it runs each line at a time, it wont stall if it cant perform an action just move onto the next line.
This can be due to lack of stamina, TP, range ect, so be carefull if tabing through to anoter target or you may end up shooting before you reach what you want :)

I use

/ac "Raging Strike" <t>
/ac "Bloodbath" <t>
/ac "Hawk's Eye <t>

Then I pick an ability for a nice little heal with a high hit rate. I usually use quick nock after this which yields me a fairly nice heal tho I don't know the specifics on why, as the math for the first shot nor all 5 shots works out.

Also this macro will skip an on cooldown ability. It will also rarely not fire at all. It will wait for stamina to complete the next off cooldown action. So if you execute at low stamina you can usually move a bit between the three ability spikes. I like to shadowbind a mob back off use this cure if I need and maybe second wind. Take a little time to lay a nice hit and get my health straight. That kind of thing.

/action "Light Shot" <t>
/action "Light Shot" <t>
/action "Shadowbind" <t>
/action "Light Shot" <t>
/action "Light Shot" <t>
/action "Raging Strike" <t>
/action "Puncture" <t>

It lets you get about 60% of their HP down before they are in your face, then you should be able to finish them off with OP's macro
/action "Light Shot" <t>
/action "Light Shot" <t>
/action "Light Shot" <t>
/action "Light Shot" <t>
/action "Raging Strike" <t>
/action "Puncture" <t>

With these to, you rarely miss cause you keep it at a distance if Shadowbind hits.
