Does anyone know if Shadowbind stacks with Close Shot? I'm guess no, since I notice a sharp reduction in bind time when shooting Shadowbind > Close Shot as opposed to Close Shot > Shadowbind.

Not in beta but I would guess no if they the same debuff type.

Flash used to overwrite Blind in FF XI I remember that.

Best I can tell they dont stack. Using shot shadowbind right off the bat lets enough time to get some tp up then close shot after that. Above 10 I've noticed the duration of the bind drastically decreasing as well. Especially in the case of close shot which has become next to useless. I'm experimenting with the other stats to see if maybe one of them has some hidden effect on durations... I'll post if I find anything.

Thanks for the replies, I'm 9 ARC now and I see what you mean. Close Shot is anything but useful anymore.

To me, Close Shot is most useful when fighting back-to-back mobs, as such in linking type monsters.

Main reason is because Close Shot requires no action points, which allows you to fire it off without having to build up 'stamina'

When in the case of Shadowbind, which uses half the action bar.. even light shot is 1/8th. It gives you an extra arrow to fire off when waiting for your primary attack actions.

Forgive any ignorance here but does the bind effect stop a mob from changing direction facing? If so then close shot move to back with a raging strike puncture in the mobs back would be a good use for such a short bind duration. I noticed yesterday hittin a fleeing mob in the back I racked 6 crits in a row hitting in the back...

Bind does not stop a mob from rotating in their spot, but when they are fleeing they will be facing away from you anyways.

I think since position of attack is a factor in fights that if you attack a mob from its weak side you will have a higher chance to crit/hit/possibly apply debuffs?. I don't think there is a static best side for all mobs. Much more testing will be needed to determine every mobs weak spot.
