I hate anything other than claws for Pug when it comes to cosmetics, so I'm really happy that you can start off with Horn Baghs

Hate to disappoint you, but Pugilists start with Weathered Hora, which are blunt weapons. I would imagine the Horn Baghnakhs are crafted.

People are crafting weapons in Beta. Shields seem to be a bigger profit item.

I am not crafting them yet, but I do watch them.

Well, they're not selling them then. XD
Or maybe I need to be on Sephiroth/Shadowlord. I've seen one weapon for sale in someone's shop. Lots of shields, of course....

yeah its getting really annoying having access to only a level 1 weapon. And i cant figure out crafting for the life of me.

What i dont get is how I bought a level 14 bow for my archer, but i cant find any other classes weapons that are above level 8. Hope it's just a beta thing but they should just put all the damn NPC weapons in 1 spot.

Just to be clear, beside the lvl 1 weapon....every other weapon must be crafted?

The reason you're not seeing any leather himantes or bronze knuckles being sold in the beta is because they both require buffalo leather straps and/or buffalo leather to make.
I have been trying as best I can to get my leatherworking and blacksmithing high enough to make these, but unfortunately to work with buffalo leather you need to be approx. lv 18 LW.
I doubt I can get LW that high before the beta ends, so i'm hoping I can buy some buffalo goods from someone else and make the bronze knuckles myself. That synth itself requires around lv 15 BS main AND lv 15 LW sub. >_<;

Edit:
It seems several people have reported successfully making these @ 12 BS 12 LW and I found an npc that sells buffalo leather. I should be able to make these now assuming I can craft the straps. I have 12 BS and 13 LW and the straps are a lv 11 recipe.

The straps are why you need 18 LW.

Oh and I made the straps @ LW 11 btw :P
Just by the lether from the LW guild npc and make straps of it the Hide -> leather recipe is much higher

Question I just posted in Glad but I was wondering if anyone here could maybe answer? There is Magic ACC and Potency on weapons and it seems to scale. Has anyone noticed the affect of this acc or potency? I am curious if we get a large portion of acc from our weapons and skill lvl and not form base stats? If the magic acc on these weapons helped a noticable amount then maybe is it possible we are evaluating acc wrong? Everyone is pumping in Dex and trying to see a diff but it sounds like the results very a great deal. Maybe the acc will be coming from gear and weapons way more then physical stats? I was looking at how MND is helping mages and it takes a good deal of MND to really start moving your MP up so maybe that is also another indicator the the physical stat is like a bonus but the real stats are gear realted? I dunno. Figured I would ask. Thanks.

How on earth are you people making these @ lv 12 BS?
I'm 15 BS 15 LW and I'm at about 0/30 on these.
I have the birdsbeak hammer good gear for crafting and doing everything right, but every time i get even remotely close an element destabilizes and blows the damn thing up. I f I try to wait it doesn't stabilize before i run out of durability. I'm at a loss for words. Do I just have the worst luck ever? Seriously this makes no sense whatsoever.

Edit1:Heh right after I posted this I finally made one ;P

Edit2: Well after all that I managed to make 1 out of 36 attempts....
I'm seriously baffled, I tried everything. My gear was always repaired, I had the facilities buff, my stats were at craft 29, mag craft 21 , control 35. I tried to wait for optimal lights but they rarely came up and even when they did I would still crit fail on them most of the time. I tried NOT waiting for optimal lights and just powering through with rapid but that was super mega fail. I also have maker's muse and fulfillment and were using them accordingly as best I could.

The stats on weapons are VERY important to your overall effectiveness in combat. I'm rank 12 and I finally upgraded from the weathered hora to the bronze knuckles and the performance increase was massive. I went from getting my butt kicked by dodos most of the time(barely managing to kill them sometimes) to absolutely owning them before they even get my health past 70%.
With the weathered hora my ACC was getting absolutely terrible past rank 10. Concussive blow was seriously missing 80% of the time on green mobs. Now with the Bronze knuckles it only misses about 10-15% of the time.

I don't understand how people get all the materials for crafting at a decent rate to begin with :/

I can harvest til my fingers are black and blue, my ass hurts, I have eye strain and I don't even stop to go eat or take a leak and still cannot get enough materials to craft at a decent speed to level my crafting in any manner of effectiveness.

My one crafting spree was Bone Rings (Goldsmith, too low lvl for recipe to be effective) and I have since not been able to gather enough Wind Shards to even contemplate buying the materials to start crafting again on my own without leve materials.

Ask your LS members to support you with shards and mats , so you can make weapons or armour for them.
I even got shards in Beta from players outside my LS for free to push my weapon crafting faster . It just depends on the comunity to play together .)

I has no LS :( Currently trying to find some that are recruiting to browse through for live so me and a friend don't burn out trying to do everything on our own XD

Requirements are simple
English primary language
Not jackasses
Helpful
Active >_<

See, simple lol

I will probably go as a primary DoW/M with sides of DoL/DoH so I can donate supplies if its a heavy crafter LS. I just cant find a good site or anything to browse for an LS lol

Wind Shards become much easier to obtain at around lvl 10ish.. (I was Level 8 Lancer but level 14 physical). Most of the time I just ended up Fishing and crafting. Sell fish to vendor, buy mats from NPC vendors, with a dash of random items from minute amounts of killing (I got my 200 kill message only a few hours before OB ended.)

Back to the wind shards.. Puk Hatchlings are a good source in La Noscea, and Emerald Bee Swarms/Roselets for Black Shroud.. didn't find too easy of a source in Thanalan at low level, but I didn't kill there much.

Magic acc and potency refers to how much your weapon benefits spells you cast from off class. While a Con staff would have 30 potency on it, swords/knuckles only have 4-5 because its offspec for them.
