After a quick read up this morning I now see that the NDA is somewhat lifted. If anyone has been in the beta and want to share some information about your archer and thoughts so far on them. I know I am very curious about what information we can start getting into the forums about this class.

Very fun. :D Enjoy it far more than Ranger. Shots aren't especially powerful but they're pretty fast. I like being able to shoot quickly as well (takes about 1.5 seconds to fire) and then move without fear of interupting the shot. Mob's pathing is a little bit dodgy at the moment so I usually get a few shots off on the target before it reaches me, and then they're not too hard to kite, shoot, kite, if you wanna play that way.

Didn't use any of the abilities yet because I.. didn't know how to set em. I'll go back and play some more with it.

Also when you have your weapon engaged, as a miqo'te, it looks flippin' pro. Especially while chasing something down :D

The miqote animation sounds like I will enjoy it a ton than. Do you happen to know how the Archer's damage compares to other classes? Also did you have access to any different variety of arrows and experiment any with using certain arrows on certain types of monsters. I really enjoyed the Ranger class in XI and I am glad I wont have to worry about moving around and interrupting my shots as much. I am also a fan of how the bow will actually stay out and not magically disappear to make my character feel more Archerish. Also, shooting faster will definitely keep me more entertained. Is it an autoshot feature or is it still using a /ra command or similar to fire each arrow individually. I really preferred having to click each arrow to fire individually.

Theres no auto-attack thus no autofire, you choose when to make each of your shots. Also, TP builds up much faster now (your guage goes up to about 3000~ and you get 100+ tp per action).

Currently you can only buy one bow and one type of arrow as far as I've seen, I think you can synth better ones, I'll try that next.

I feel that archer's damage is probably in the lower category compared to the other DD's at the moment but distance is actually a real advantage in this game as far as I've seen, unlike in FFXI where it'd take 2 seconds tops for the monster to reach you, even standing at max range. I'll have a play with the TP moves soon and see how it's damage stacks up then, compared to the others.

Also I hope they fix replenish soon, when you run out of ammo, throwing rocks sucks. It shouldn't be a problem once this ability is fixed though.

Are you limited to how many arrows you can carry at a time?

At the moment they just come in stack form, ie. stacks of 99, which use up 1 invo each (invo at beginning is 80 slots) so taking out 20~ spots for gear... you could carry 5940 I spose?

They'll probably implement some sort of quiver system in the future though, if they haven't already and I just don't know how to use it.

I'm liking Archer the most so far.

Accuracy is a little meh but otherwise so far so good.

Raging Strike + Hawk's Eye + Arrow Helix = awesome

Arrow Helix is a TP move that attacks multiple enemies at once
Raging Strike is a buff that increases the attack power of your next attack
Hawk's Eye is a buff that increases the accuracy of your next attack

I'm waiting for my game to finish installing. :)

A question: do ALL Archer buffs stack? Do any of them cancel each other out?

As much as I enjoy the archer, I do not think I will be making one for my starting class. Think it will be better to start as something else, till you have a nice stockpile of gil ready for the cost of arrows.
