While we like to keep things as relaxed as possible, structure is an important part of maintaining an atmosphere that's fun for all members. Please read the guidelines below and understand that these are the standards to which all members are held accountable. These guidelines are subject to change as needed.

General
• Be respectful to other members; we’re all friends here!
• Derogatory comments based on race, sexual orientation or gender will NOT be tolerated.
• Keep discussions concerning politics, religion and other potentially controversial topics private.
• Arguments and fights should be handled privately – contact an officer if needed.
• Don’t ridicule other players for their gear or playstyle – be helpful and constructive!
• NO. SPOILERS. Some of our members are just scratching the surface of the story!
• Members who are inactive for 14 days without notice may be discharged at the Grandmaster's discretion.

ARR Community
• Remember, you represent Hokuten Knights at all times – negative and disrespectful behavior makes the entire FC look bad.
• Extend an invitation! You never know who could be looking for a Free Company.

Voice Chat
• Voice chat is preferred for Free Company events.
• Excessive crude and foul language is not appreciated.
• If others are reporting an issue with your microphone, take action to correct it – we’ll wait!
• All chat-based rules apply to voice chat as well.

Website
• Don’t forget to link your character to the site for the purposes of our roster.
• Keep it classy! Our website is our public face!
• No flame wars – if you disagree with someone, do so respectfully.
• Upload screenshots! Respond to posts! RSVP for events! Keep our website fun and active!

Rank and Advancement
With the exception of soldier, all promotions are decided by a majority vote of the Archons (formerly Masters). Members of all ranks may recommend another member for promotion based on the criteria below.

Squire
• This is the default rank for new members.
• Squires do not have access to the Free Company chest.

Soldier
• This rank is attained by members who register for the Free Company website and who show their agreement to abide by the Code of Conduct by replying to the thread.
• Soldiers have access to the first slot of the Free Company Chest.

Knight
• This rank is attained by members who have been dedicated to helping others, starting conversations, running/organizing events, etc.
• Knights gain access to the first and second Free Company chest slots.

Ark Knight
• Knights who display a proclivity for maintaining order, such as settling disputes and ensuring the Code of Conduct is upheld in chat, forums and Mumble may be promoted to this rank.
• In addition to all three Free Company chest slots, Ark Knights are granted access to crystal storage.

Archons
• Ark Knights who have been with the Free Company for a significant amount of time may be considered for the Archon rank.
• Archons are the final authority on resolving issues that arise within the Free Company and may discharge members who commit severe violations of the Code of Conduct.
• Archons have access to all that the Free Company chest has to offer and may fulfill
