Returning Player - Noob Friendly LS? Follow

Hello!

I'm looking to return to FFXIV (return is a generous term, I suppose, I never made it passed level 20 on a couple of jobs) and seeing as it seems the game has a somewhat more stable player base than when I last gave it a whirl and people seem to genuinely be enjoying some of the new content and inclusion of traditional jobs, I figure it would be a lot more fun to return to a game where I'll actually have some people to talk to, get to know while I'm playing and, heaven forbid, ask the occasional noobish questions to. I'll be starting from scratch unless there's a server transfer feature (I might want to start from scratch anyways to immerse myself in the world a bit - it's probably been close to a year) so a LS that isn't solely focused on end game activities and might actually be willing to join me/aid me in the journey TO end game would be ideal. I played FFXI for years, well passed the Abyssea expansions, and while I won't exactly miss the grind, my fondest memories are all from pre-ToAU when group play and cooperation was the only way to achieve anything.

It would also be ideal if the LS had a healthy social atmosphere and wasn't solely focused on in game achievements. I'm a 25 year old guy who enjoys quality games, good movies, beer (or whiskey), sports and working out. I played 4 years of college hockey and you could say I'm a bit of a fanatic. I love video games as well, but you could almost call them a guilty pleasure. I actually haven't played any MMOs other than FFXI and FFXIV briefly (I tried DCUO as well, but only because I love Batman) but I love the Uncharted, Assassin's Creed, Arkham and Mass Effect series. Anyhow, didn't mean to write a personal ad, but I was hoping to join a LS where I'll actually look forward to logging in and chatting while I go through the early grind, even if I'm playing solo (helps fight the boredom). If it sounds like I might be a fit with your LS, let me know and I'll get in touch once the game updates and I create a new character.

Anyone? Any server... I just got everything updated and should be creating a character shortly. Would love to find a social shell to keep my mind off the grind in the early goings.

You find a home yet? I might try to tag up with you in game, if you care. We seem to have the same taste in a lot of areas, hockey (Go Caps), sports, games, and my personal FFXI philosophy. I am looking to start the game for the first time and need a LS/Server to play in. Let me know if you want to help a like minded NOOB noob. Or anyone else actually. Thanks.

I have not found a home. In fact, I have barely started playing because, despite the fact that I was excited to give it a go and see all the new changes, logging in and running around without talking to ANYBODY was just too boring to do for more than a couple of hours, and I ended up picking up Mass Effect 3 to keep me busy for a bit. I still want to play, but not without some social element, otherwise there's not much point.

I'd be willing to start-up on whatever server you're on if you've already started, or join up with you on Ridill, which is where I created initially (only have like 6 levels, so it's no biggie). Incidentally, my Rangers are playing your Caps tonight and if we win, we're playing you in the first round of the playoffs as well. Which basically means that Ovie heating up recently is not good for me. I always loved the guy, but it's been hard watching him struggle this year. Glad he seems to be getting it going, but it's terrible timing for the Rangers lol
