Hi I am a phys lev 17 lev 14 marauder and Im about to be 20 but haven't seen even a hint of xp parties, either ls/pug/what have you, and I was wondering when/where/if I could get into a party, or where I might build one to go camp. I am dying to PT in this game!

I like solo but tbh I almost like the solo in ffxi more. Please don't tell me I have to solo/duo much longer, I dont play mmo's to solo very much. I am near Lims Lominsa but I am willing to travel. Thanks in advance for any helpful advice, long live Fabul.

If you have access to a healer I can suggest several places.

Ah i do, but was kind of hoping for a 5 or 6 man PT? A more specific question would be: Do 5 or 6 man xp parties ever happen in ffxiv, like they do in ffxi? The kind where you find a tank a support a healer and 3 DDs. ID like to tank for a pick up group party and it just sort of felt like level 20 was pretty far to go solo, but perhaps im wrong.

Most of the parties that I encounter are those that are post-GuildLeve.
The usual chain of events is this:

  • I sign up for Behest at the Battlewarden.
  • Someone sends me an invite.
  • While waiting for Behest to start, I ask if anyone wants to do Guildleves afterwards.
  • At least half the players say yes, on average.
  • Behest is completed, we do Guildleves.
  • During Guildleves, I inquire if anyone wants to go thrash some Sheep/Crabs/etc.
  • At least half of the players in the Guildleve party say yes.
  • We then shout for 1 or 2 more, swap jobs based on what we want, and go forth to slay all manner of critters.

  • I hope that helps.
I generally group up with 2-3 players, and of course we don't always end up with a healer. While I don't have Bloodbath myself, I tend to run with Cure/Sacrifice, and I've seen many of the DoW jobs running with Ferocity/Bloodbath/Second Wind, and we tend to last a good while.
