Anyone having problems connecting to the server? For some reason I'm unable to log in from work.

The 2000 unit limit to the map must have been removed. I'm lost and figured I'd keep walking and eventually be ported back. So far nothing.

It's up to you guys. I can turn on the limit and set a certain range if you can agree on the distance.

Btw, It was a triumph!!! Someone made a Portal mod for Minecraft!!!

And used the Minecraft textures in L4D2.

So Awesome. Make sure you check out the link for the High-Res Textures in the description.

Completed original Enterprise including the interior.

I hope the 31st update fixes minecarts and redstone wires on multiplayer. I'd love to start making some rail systems.

So, Notch is one rich mother@#%^er by now:

http://www.minecraft.net/stats.jsp

Quote:
1386924 registered users, of which 433681 (31.26%) have bought the game.

In the last 24 hours, 21385 people registered, and 7403 people bought the game.

At $13 a pop, that's $5.6M.

I kinda like that statistics page, interesting to look at occasionally.

Quote:
7912 players online, in 1263 servers.

Ah 4-chan. Reading their shenanigans is all fun and games until something you personally enjoy is affected :-(

That said, I'm not sure what their issue is. Notch has said that the next update is coming out on Halloween. Calm down, folks...

Single-player is still fun. Next thing I need to do is build a minecart system. Need to figure out how to boost carts though.

I started getting into a lull playing on the server, but after getting back into single player today I've gotten excited again. Invincibility can be fun, but it gets boring after a while. Fearing for your life while exploring just gives the game a level of excitement that just makes it that much more fun.

Don't worry, once the invincibility is gone I'm turning the monsters back on. That's why I rebuilt my base out of Obsidian and dug the pit of Sparta.

We finally got the game on my wife's computer. Her username is "ShanyBaby" but I can't seem to log in to your server. I get this message:

"Disconnected by server

<ShanyBaby> kicked by <Console>"

Edit:

Holy sh*t I just found a major case of nerd rage...

I log into someone else's server a with a Sailor Mercury skin and this guy on here got so pissed off because he had a different Sailor Mercury skin and huffed off saying he had to change his "costume" and called me a poser...

The update should be pretty awesome if all goes well. I can't tell if I'm looking forward to biomes or Hell more.

In my single player map I've done pretty well. After making a minecart (and booster) system to connect all my bases, I finally killed enough creepers to make 27 TNT. So I put all my items into storage, and DUG STRAIGHT DOWN (OH NOES!) with just some picks and ladders. Got to bedrock, and made my way back up, placing TNT every once in a while. By the time I got to the top I had a zombie waiting for me as I placed the last TNT. Got him to chase me, and I tapped the TNT as I ran by...

BOOM!!!

No more zombie, and an AWESOME shaft down to the bottom level of the world. Actually found a cave system with several diamonds in it ;-)

Also spent some time mining Obsidian, as we need it for portals. Although monsters kill me more often, nothing terrifies me more than lava. Mining obsidian was like a constant panic attack, afraid at any moment I might fall in and burn up all my stuff :-P

It's kind of died down due to invincibility, should pick up again after the update on the 31th. Get some practice in Single Player.

You're still in the radius of your spawn point. It does that to keep you from respawning into a pit or lava. You just need to move a bit further away.

Kuwoobie, if you catch anyone else on you can use the tp command to port yourself to them ("!tp Kuwoobie Vataro" would teleport you to me, for example).

And yes, the redstone stuff not working is another reason I got bored of multiplayer.

This is the bug I'm experiencing at the moment:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zGWJqlEanBs&feature=related

I didn't make this video, but it's pretty much the same thing that is happening to me.

The only difference is, the blocks disappear like they're supposed to a few seconds after they reappear, and often times I break the same blocks twice or three times before they actually go away.

I decided to start a single player game again for the first time in ages. With the difficulty set to hard those skeletons are terrifying. I found a natural cave right below my very first house and it was filled with the damn things. Every time I left my house it seemed there was a Creeper waiting for me. I eventually cleared the cave by repeatedly respawning and running in and punching the skeletons. Took a while, but they were dealt with. The advantage of building at your spawn point I suppose.

Another (cheaper) way to deal with skeletons in your nearby cave - run through the cave placing torches, and then run back out and run far away in some direction (presumably dying to something else). When you go back to the cave all the baddies will have despawned, and the light means they won't come back.

Unless there's a generator.

Then you make a death trap and afk for a couple of hours to get a ton of arrows ^_^

Hello folks, longtime Allakhazam forum lurker here. I found the link to this thread in Kuwoobie's sig and was wondering if I'd need to download any mods to play on your server? I.E., Runecraft or Hey0. I've played singleplayer for a while now, and tried some multiplayer. But my attempts to join an online server always end up with my stuff getting burned down or flooded with lava, so I'd love to join one with a group of people that aren't going to herd Creepers into my mine.

Those are server-side mods, so you don't have to worry about them unless you plan to start your own server. Gimme your game name and I'll add you to my server for a trial period. You know, just in case Ikkian's house burns down again.

It could have been the mystery person who was logging in before. However, these TNT blocks were cunningly hidden underneath smooth stone.

Is it possible to dig around it, flood it, then detonate it? If you can cover it completely in water it won't destroy any blocks.

Shot in the dark, but...
