You'd probably be right.

Zicore applied an update to the admin tool I'm using, then another update to fix the update. Consider the server under maintenance till I figure out what he changed.

I found a treasure room today with a skeleton spawner. Inside the box was this.

I guess it's time for me to start a pig riding farm somewhere.

Everything seems fine on the server, and I just made myself a full set of solid gold Pimp Armour. Booyah.

I'm going to have to put up some "no blasting zone" signs to ask people not to blow giant holes in the ground around certain areas. Covering a hole with dirt takes a long time. I planted a bunch of trees over it too. It is hollow, so if you dig a hole in the ground you will drop, and depending on where it might be pretty far.

But everything appears to be intact, nothing is missing.

There is actually a Zone feature built into the Admin Tool that helps prevent that. If I can find some decent instructions on how to use the Tool, instead of a 2 page help file dealing with setting up the initial connection. Even his wiki is just some basic info.

Im keeping my blasting confined to my epic quarry of epic proportions for now. I managed to find a spider dungeon, and discovered that dynamite kills mobs, which made me really happy. The last dungeon I found I dug a hole from the surface all the way down to let sunlight in to kill the zombies. It was inefficient to say the least...

Glass, stone, flint? Or instead of flint, a torch? Or maybe even cloth? It'd be nice to have a use for cloth.

I like the watch idea. Don't like the "it has to be brighter to be safer" idea. Smiley: um

I'm excited that fishing will be implemented.

I plan on starting my own quarry tonight, and will keep my blasting confined to there. I also discovered this morning that TNT kills mobs, as I killed some chickens with it. :)

Well technically you can throw an egg if you have it in your hand and hit "Q".

anyone running a server and client having extreme CPU usage problems? Granted my CPU is old, id expect it to be able to handle this game. But with the server and client running it would take up more CPU than i could offer, i could prioritize the server and it would run at upwards of 90%, then my client had like 5fps. so i gave my client priority and it ran great, but the server latency was horrendous. I log out of the client and server CPU drops down to 20-25%. :S

Im going to try and get it hosted on my wifes computer tonight, but id really like to be able to do both on my machine.

I think I mentioned earlier in the thread, my CPU usage jumped from ~20% normal usage to ~70% running the server + client... still not enough to notice problems though. This was using campus internet on a wireless connection, though I'm not sure if that matters.

If you just want to connect to Shaow's instead (what I would recommend), the IP is (ask Shaow)

Good in theory only, atm everything in multiplayer is invincible due to programming bugs.

Unfortunately not, the automatic backup just overwrites the previous one. What ever you did will have to be undone manually.

Ikkian found out that wood, leaves, and trees are very flammable. One minute his treehouse forest was there. The next minute it was gone.

I put a fountain and a pond in front of my castle. Going to furnish the inside and finish it up tonight.

Well it's official, I now have to move my base. First it was the person mining through my wall on the ocean side. Now it's the freakishly awesome structures I have to compete against.

Need a respawn function as I was a 10 minute+ boatride away and the compass pointed me to the beach of a deserted island. I traveled 10 minutes in some direction and now have no idea how far away I am from the original island. Otherwise going to have to give up on your server.

...the compass can't really point you anywhere other than the spawn point...which is right by our stuff. <.<

It's a trick, the compass only points you to your current spawn point. If you logout at a different location that becomes your spawn point once you log back in. I found that out yesterday.

That's very interesting... I never thought of that. Makes sense though.

edit: Paskil, you might try going straight up (Look straight down, keep jumping and hold down the right mouse button to place a block until it won't let you place any more), then look around for the lava tower. Unless you're really really far away I think you should be able to see it, or at least your tower of redstone torches.

I'm really, really far away and unsure which direction I traveled. The compass actually pointed to a spot that was about a 7 minute boat ride from where I logged out so that appears to be incorrect. After traveling to where the compass pointed, I traveled an additional 10 minutes or so in whatever direction. I'm most likely thoroughly far away from the original start.

Shaow's right though, this is your best bet. You could always just wait til tonight, assuming Shaow will be on.

Btw Shaow, I haven't really looked into this much, but have you considered giving others mod power on the server? I don't know if it's possible or what powers they would have, but it seems like it might be useful for situations like this.
