My wife and i have a request on a buildFollow

If you plan on just doing some 2 player healing and still want to be able to toss out some dps i would suggest going rouge (bard/sab/ranger) and using the bard for healing when she gets rocked. Sab was amazing AOE and single target dps. Also has a little CC and GREAT buffs. Here is a quick build that will give you a starting point for ideas.

dex dex dex never use anything with wisdom or intelligence as a rogue. Don't confuse bard with a "caster" your healing is based on your attack power. The only gear you will ever have that resembles traditional "healing" gear would be a healing trinket or planar essences

We tried this tonight. I went with the Bard/sab and i gave my wife the choice of what to make, warrior with some self heals(think it was a Paladin/Champion build) and good damage or a cleric tank with some AoE and she decided to go for a cleric tank, i think it was a heavy 51just/inq mix that just won't die. We got up to 12 tonight and i have to say i am having fun with the bard...a pretty da@m busy class it is. But the wife is really finding her cleric lackluster. It tanks really well as the thing just won't die no matter how many mobs we threw at it, we a duo'ing every Rift we come across with +/- 2 or 3 levels of us with no problems at all, but her damage is absolutely abysmal~ I hear her moaning a lot about no AOE threat generation, not much damage no AoE abilities....I feel a little bad for her choice as I am loving the Bard.

One of the cleric builds that I've been meaning to try out is the "Duracell", which is supposed to be fabulous for solo AOE grinding and support role for experts. It may be a bit underpowered at low levels before you get Strike of the Maelstrom and Vengeful Justice 3/3, but it should compliment a bard fairly well.

Figured i would let you guys.gals know how it was going, since you have all been pretty helpful. We played a Bard + Cleric tank up to 20.My wife hated the cleric tank with a passion. So she went warrior(the pally/warlord build you guys recommended). She liked it a lot as it did some good damage and she seemed to be having a lot of fun laying into everything she could see, but that caused us a big problem because the Bard has crap for heals so my wife was taking some good beatings. I already had a mage that was 25, so I switched to that as a chloro/lock while questing and stormcaller/pyro while doing rifts. It is working out pretty well, my wife likes the warrior build and the chloro has enough healing to keep us up while questing and for the rifts, my wife just collects everything while i burn them down with the stormcaller. I have to say, for ease of use, the chloro + warrior works well.
Also, i am trying the rogue build myself as a solo treat, and at 25,i just changed from ranged into the RS/BD/sab build and it is pretty fun. If i was to do it all over again, i think i would go with the Rogue + a chloroLock(or some hybrid cabalist/justicar/warden build for heals)to level up. It seems like it works well so far. Who'da thunk it that rogues can take such a beating and still keep on goin'.
