Hi all, just started playing Rift and am trying to plan out a good DPS Rogue for PVP and PVE alike. I started out with Bladedancer/Assassin/Nightblade and going pretty much going all the way up the Bladedancer tree, getting the crit abilities from Assassin, and just getting some of the good passive skills from Nightblade. However, it seems like Nightblade is the main tree for good DPS and I think I might want to pursue it more. Since I dropped Bladedancer, I put a few more points into Assassin to build critical rate for Savage Strike, which will be my main combo builder alongside Dusk Strike it seems like.

I thought Riftstalker might be a good substitute for Blade Dancer if I only have 13 or so points left after Nightblade and Assassin trees. Ideally, I shouldn't be getting hit that much as a Rogue so sometimes it doesn't feel worth it to have an extra 5% dodge and a few more points for small counter attacks. It seems like an added 15% attack power, more endurance (is the damage reducer Exceptional Resilience better than Endurance?) and Rift Scavenger would be better. There are lots of times where I have extra combo points left and a small heal would be nice since I'm usually not the priority for healers and PVP can be hectic. How does this build look?

I wasn't sure about skills like Melted Skin and Heat Retention. I really appreciate all feedback!

Both. After playing a bit more I'm considering something more like 44/17/5 nightblade/assassin/ranger. Ranger and assassin for the crit abilities and nightblade for the main damaging abilities. I also am considering going further with sin and replacing ranger with 0 in bladedancer just for the level 1 50% dodge ability. What is a winning build for pvp and pve performance?

Rift gives you 5 roles to have at any given point, and you are trying to combine PvE and PvP in one? Do you really have no spare roles?

You gotta declare your intentions before picking apart a build.
Pvp: do you wanna cap flags or return flags? Hold nodes or rape defenders? Chase down runners or be a runner? Maybe you want to disrupt objectives? Or perhaps you don't care much for team play and you want to just gather 1v1 kills?

Pve: do you want range or melee? Seems to me like you'd prefer melee. If you don't already have one in your group, you'd be a fool not to go Bladedancer. The 5% Raid crit alone makes you invaluable. Add the 1 and 2pt combo generation, self buffs, and energy management and you have a nice start. Combine with Nightblade for extra dmg talents and some aoe. Rest of your pts can go to Sin up to Puncture. Bake for 30 mins /enjoy
