I am new FYI thinking about picking up the game
I am wondering if for example if
Elemental Summoner
Biting Cold
stacks with
Pyromancer's
improved fireball

Or do points only affect that calling ?
biting cold states that it affects spells so i would think they would stack

also
Dominator
quick thinking
What is considered a crowd control spell
for example
Pyromancer
burning bonds
is this considered crowd control ?

Perhaps i should post this in new player form but really i just want o know about how callings affect each other

Yes Biting Cold affects all spells as well as the 5% from that talent. Same way, as a talent in one soul that increases spell damage, also increases spell damage for other souls.

Crowd Control can best be described as, something that affects the players ability to function normally. So, slowing, stunning, fearing, squirrel-ing..., silence, rooting, snaring etc. They are all forms of crowd control.

The key to look for is what type of thing a particular soul point is affecting and to keep in mind the fact that souls are intended to be mixed.

If I have 3 souls that all have a branch ability that says "physical damage is increased by 'foo'" and I take all three of those, my physical damage is increased by 3x'foo'

To put it in a mage context, since those are likely to be the souls you've read the most on: Archon has a branch ability right at the bottom that says "fire damage +some%" that will improve the fire damage from a Pyromancer's spells even though it's an Archon ability

When is this not the case?

Sometimes it isn't, and if it isn't, it'll say so. It'll say something like "when you deal damage with a Justicar ability, X happens" and so that ability applies only to Justicar abilities even if the rest of it seems like it could be applied to other souls
