I can't say absolutely yes,but I'm about 90% sure they do. There is no separate ranged stat; there is only physical hit, physical damage, etc. which should cover both ranged and melee.
The entire point of the soul system is for you to be able to mix and match souls as you want, so having a separate stat for ranged would severely limit your options, which I don't think is what the developers are going for. Edited, Jan 27th 2011 10:25am by Vataro
