Maybe I'll have to make a PvP build on one of my characters and work on it. I like playing kind of slower characters, though, and every invader seems to be a super agile rolling quick-stabby guy, and I'm just not built to deal with that really.

Went through 30 Tokens of Fidelity trying to get better at PvP. I'm 0-30. I just don't know how to deal with getting hit when the other guy is nowhere near me, or getting hit by arrows that miss by 10 feet on my screen.

Ouch. I've done ok in NG just dueling on the bridge in Iron Keep. I usually get in the mood on weekends more due to adult beverages. I think that helps me relax and just go with the flow as well. My style of play is not really right for PvP either. I tend to like to block too much and all the hardcore PvP types punish for that.

Yeah, well, I went to the duel area after getting constantly invaded at Heide's Tower in NG+, so maybe I should try with a character with a lower SM. I kind of want the armor from that covenant, but ranking up in it is an insane amount of wins. I would be better off just murdering the NPC. Smiley: lol

Smiley: lol On NG+ now, trying to kill the Chariot. I swear the run leading up to the fight is more lethal than the fight itself. And of course, every time I have a smooth run there, I completely forget about the holes in the bridge. Smiley: crymore

My last run on NG+ to chariot I carefully archered all of the ambushers, then proceeded to fall off the bridge not paying attention...

After that I just ran past the ambushers and hopped through the fog. First run on boss was clean solo though. Yay!

I have not actually played this week. Been dinking off in Kawaii/Moe land with some F2P Aura Kingdom. Which is stupid easy and a shiny happy world. Nice change of pace heh.

I plan to DS2 some this weekend though to finish the first DLC in NG+ and make sure I am properly prepped for the second one on the 26th.

The boss itself isn't too bad, though I seem to get hit in the outlets if I have my shield up, which is annoying, since sometimes I need to be blocking the skeletons. Pretty much you can make it to the first mage in one sprint as soon as you get in, though I think I'd be better off killing the first two skeletons right away, then hiding, then killing the mage.

Just finished the first DLC on NG+. That was... pretty intense. Failed both the bosses and the way to the bosses several times before I came up with a clean run. Good times. Smiley: nod

Haven't played in a couple days, looking forward to getting back into it. Bought Demon's Souls on PSN (I have it on disc, but load times will be way faster on the installed version), so I'm probably going to start that up again.

Second DLC is out today. I might wait until this weekend to dig into it, so I really have time to enjoy. I've never played DmS, I might have to check it out sometime.

Does it still hold up?

The only part of Demons that really feels outdated is the ladder climbing, in my opinion. It's painful to long and slow climb those damn things. Other than that? It's still pretty good.

Just play this when you climb a ladder.

Dig the James bond Ladder theme...

Also could not resist had to peak into the DLC and made it to the first bonfire. So far I like it better than the first DLC. It's full of amazing vista's and less claustrophobic, so far. Some NPC gank squads but I have no shame in my kite so not a big deal so far. Plus the buffed Stone ring takes care of most of the problems with the first DLC being that I ate chip damage non stop the entire way from very high poise enemies.

I like when my Claymore get's their attention better. Smiley: sly

I had no issue with them in NG, but in NG+ they gave me fits. I finally realized that they only did the fire moves below 50% health or when there were at least three alive. With two alive and neither below 50% health they were just super aggressive. I ended up trying to make sure that at least one of the ones that was alive was below 50% since the fire moves make it easier to recover and focus on other gargoyles.

Also, I might have to do the Bell Tower covenant for a while. PVP practice, plus you get Titanite Chunks as rewards for winning, and I apparently didn't stock up on anything before starting NG+.

After you beat Nashandra you can buy chunks from the rock girl in Majula unlimited. Also you can farm the Giant Lord memory as long as you want to get souls since it respawns the ascetic when you burn it there. Bellbroing might be more fun though.

I stocked up big time on my current NG+ toon.

In other news for no reason I decided to roll another Sorc. This time I am not taking faith or hexxing at all. Just pure magic. I've never used any of the 50-60 INT spells becuase I usually end up so hybrid and stop things at 40.

Of course with recent spell nerfs and the rdiculous spell parry frames I will get my **** kicked in PvP but that should not matter to much in NG. Having a blast with it up till Harvest valley so far.

Also gaining a new found love for the humble short sword. I love the move set, it's like a cross between sun sword and claymore but mini. Can't wait to infuse it with magic. Keeping the tried and true firesword around for back up as well.

I've just become enamored with my ultra greatswords. I use a claymore for when I have to do a lot of turtling against a single enemy or in a corridor, but mostly I use a Lightning imbued Pursuer's Ultra Greatsword and a Fire imbued Black Knight Ultra Greatsword. Working on the Lost Sinner now, so I should be able to grab a scroll of Flame Weapon pretty soon, so I can buff each one properly.

Pursuer's Greatshield is serving me pretty well, but I think I'm going to change over to the King's Shield or Defender's Shield at the end of NG+. I will probably miss the stability, but definitely won't miss the weight.

...and now the Royal Rat Authority is kicking my ***. I'm really getting a significant challenge out of NG+. I'm really loving it. I'm using my Rings of Soul Protection when I get invaded in an inconvenient spot, since I lose 99% of invasions. I had someone earlier, and I swear I hit them four or five times. The sounds confirmed the hits, the animations showed him staggered for a split second, then it would register his roll. He'd take no damage, and then I'd get backstabbed form in front of me.

I hope that they really figure out how to improve PvP in future Souls games. Honestly, I wouldn't mind losing every invasion if it at least felt like a fair fight, but it gets really frustrating the way it is now.

Is that the one in Doors of Pharros? It was tough until I figured out that AoE wrecks the adds. After that just stay on the back legs of the big rat.

I think I used the Hex storm spell the one time I bothered to do that fight. One shot the adds.

Yeah, I had cleared it in NG no problem, but I think it was the last fight I did before I took an extended break from the game, and since you can't Sunbro there, I only ran it the one time. I keep ******** up my timing. I remember pulling the rats with a bow, killing one. Then I can bomb them with a Great Fireball and they should all be dead. Of course, while this is happening, I **** up my timing and the big rat jumps on me, I ***** up my recovery, and I'm dead the next hit. It's doable, and I'll get it.

OMGWTFBBQ Short sword +10 with magic infusion and great magic weapon on it is soooooo stronk. I feel like superman broing up the mirror knight and I am wasting him before he even gets to make a add.

I love that such a minor weapon can be made to have almost 400 AP and attack so fast and stamina efficient. Durability is slightly an issue so I started bracing knuckle ringing it but still, good times.

I have a Sun Sword infused with a Bleed Stone that is great for chipping away at turtly enemies.

Also, does Flame Weapon affect durability? I used it on my Fire Black Knight Ultra Greatsword before the Scorpioness fight, having not used it at all on my way to the battle, and it broke during the fight. That seems really odd to me. It's not like I had a lot of swings and misses, either. Maybe I'll test it out over there as a Sunbro. I bought a Smelter Sword, but I don't know that I'll ever really use it, though the special attacks are neat.

I've never noticed flame weapon doing that. Some weapons just seem to break easier though.

In other news I take back what I said about liking the new DLC better. It's huge, confusing as hell and full of relentless NPC gank squads.

MERCY. UNCLE. Stop hurting me! Smiley: cry
