I've only respeced my DK one time. :) I'm flush like 3x what I was on my NB at this point.

In other news I just unlocked Impulse and Inhale... My AOE is now ludicrous.

Much melt.

For the next 3 seconds I'm now going to tell you how all of your life's problems can be solved.

Destro Staff.

I know it. But I didn't start using one until later (started with bow/resto) and now my destro staff skill is so low that I'm going to be going into vet level content without Impulse, which. Seems stupid. Actually started a new nightblade... it may be that starting over is quicker and cheaper than getting this one in the skill/gold/spec places I want her to be. Plus the new one is prettier! Smiley: nod We'll see.

Edit: also crafting. Tried to pick up a couple crafting skills later that I didn't start out keeping up with - big mistake if anyone is doing the same. Went into a low level solo dungeon to try to get some glyphs to desconstruct and none of the mobs dropped any loot whatsoever, so I guess once you outlevel them by some amount you get nothing.

I'm seeing a lot of complaints today about the lack of Nightblade fixes in the patch notes, and I agree with those complaints, but they're overshadowing the buff to Entropy. That of course isn't Nightblade-specific, but could be very interesting for us if it stacks with Strife.

I'm going to keep leveling destro staff anyway. Impulse was probably OP, maybe now it's overnerfed, we'll see, but I'm confident that eventually it will be balanced into a decent AOE and NB's have so few of those. Of course, DK's have plenty of AOE, but you still have other good synergies with the destro staff.

In any case now that I've started over and am level... 6... Impulse will probably have changed half a dozen times by the time I get it. Smiley: lol Even though the level 39 nightblade has the 42k horse and is most of the way to level 50, I'm not sure I'll be able to help going with the new one, because she looks so much better. I'm just glad I already had the only 2 motifs I generally use ready to go for her, now that they've nerfed the drop rate AGAIN. I can't stand wearing Imperial gear any longer than I have to. Who goes adventuring through the wilderness in SANDALS?

Edit: simultaneous post, Smiley: lol at video.

I'm not gonna lie I wear socks with my sandals sometimes. All the nice ventilation, none of the sweat on the bottom. It makes sense get over *it people.

Also non of the nerfs are bothering me tonight. I don't rely on spam anyway my build is balanced on synergies between multiple skills. So far so good. :)

Angry Joe's review of Elder Scrolls Online kept me from buying this game when it came out, but I recently had a case of Skyrim fever that ended out in me buying ESO after all. Gotta say, I don't get what Angry Joe was on about. Either Zenimax did some major patching since his review, or I'm just not seeing it. The game is awesome. Mainly because I get to be a giant viking with a greatsword and the ability to manipulate lightning. **** yes. I'm a damn Sith Lord or something. They even managed to make melee combat not awkward (Skyrim, please take notes).

So far, I've only encountered three issues:

1. Console user interface. Radial menus can kiss my ***. Seriously.
2. Shared loot in dungeons (caves, mines, etc.). I'm killing the boss while Derpface runs past me and loots my chest.
3. Too much stuff - not enough bag space! There is so much crap in this game, but I have no idea what to keep and what to sell. I've got crystals and **** that I supposedly use in crafting, but I can't... 0 value and taking up bag space that could be used to carry a valuable staff or something.

But those are minor things. Right now my main concern is that I want to experience the entire game at once, but like any other Elder Scrolls game, this one requires a lot of patience. Only level 14, and I've sunk maybe 12 hours into the game. Lots of voiced dialogue and connected quests makes me want to hear the story. No cutscenes like in SWTOR, but the game does have scripted events, and I don't need badly animated cutscenes when the game engine is so sexy.

My most memorable encounter with the engine's sexiness was in Stonefalls(?). I was running around on an island with a clear view of Ash Mountain (the volcano). Suddenly one of those Dark Anchors appeared in the sky with the District 9 horn sound and shot chains into the ground. Damn near pissed myself. It's like the Rifts in... Rift... but ten times more badass. Sounds and visuals are 10/10, in my opinion. Was even able to crank the settings up to max and still get shorter load times than SWTOR. Not sure if Zenimax deserves praise for that, or if BioWare deserves a spanking for their ****** optimization.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to finishing up this first (second?) zone tomorrow and taking my guy into the next zone tomorrow. The Skyshards and zone exploration achievements appeal to the completionist in me. So far I'm far too busy testing my various skills on unsuspecting mudcrabs, though. So much lightning!

Yeah, I have zero bag space on two mules, and closing in on that on my other alts.

One day all that stuff is going to come in handy. I'm sure of it . . .

I've toyed around with the crafting system, but so far I have no idea how the damn thing works. I have a million different gems in my inventory, and they're apparently used in crafting to make your **** fancy, but so far I haven't been able to use any of them.

The crafting thing is... well, not very intuitive. Or maybe I shouldn't have skipped the blacksmith's tutorial. Smiley: um

It might be best to focus in on 1-2 crafts to save your inventory woes. To use the runes either break them down to skill enchanting or right click any item in your inventory and choose enchant from the drop down menu.

DS2 kind of owned my weekend so I did not play much ESO.

I played less ESO than I would have liked over the weekend because of the holiday and family stuff. My VERY LAST started over character NO REALLY is I think level 18. I've still got the level 39 sitting at the top of my login screen moping because she's too short and not as pretty and her destro staff skill is crap. As a side note, that was my... what?... tenth? time through Glenumbra, and I found a whole section I'd never been to before and a quest chain I'd never seen, despite having gotten the questing achievements every time I went through it.

Plus starting over is fun because you can fix your past mistakes with red quest options and not accidentally do anything mean to Stibbons. Just saying. You could. If you needed to. Not that I've ever done anything mean to Stibbons.

Maz, the gems will add traits to your crafted items, but only after you've researched those traits. Go to the Research tab in the crafting window - it'll show you the items you have (either in your bag or bank - you always have access to your bank while crafting) with traits on them, like say a two-handed sword with extra crit. If you research that item, it will destroy the sword, but after a few hours you know how to make two-handed swords with extra crit. Research times get progressively longer (although you can put in skill points to reduce them slightly and research more than one thing at a time) so I'd recommend you always be researching something, if you care about crafting. I love the crafting in this game even though it takes a bit of getting used to - it's actually valuable, the stuff you make is generally better than stuff that drops, and it actually takes time and effort to level as opposed to just going and buying a bunch of mats at an auction house and being maxed out two hours later.

Inventory is a PITA. I have an alt who just holds stuff that I don't use but want to keep, like pets and such. But crafting mats are tough. I'm working on every profession except blacksmithing and my bank is always bursting at the seams. And I waste a lot of time running back to town, selling, breaking down, crafting, because my bags are always full.

I second this emotion.

Okay, the lack of an in-game auction system is crap. The Guild Store thing just doesn't work for a lone wolf like me, and while vendors do sell basic stuff, the prices are completely insane. Do not like.

Completely agree. That's why you have to craft all your own stuff so you can be self-sufficient. I guess with the mega-server system an auction house would be difficult to work, but the system as it is now stinks.

Eh, at first I was a little bit intimidated by the idea of selling to other players without an AH. But then, I had a Motif that I didn't need, did a zone shout, and within seconds had two tells. Then you can just mail it C.O.D. and they are forced to send the money back to get the item. And you can do from in the field!
