That would be the monster side of it, I was talking about npc's in towns and whatnot all having individual and progressing storylines. But ideally, both in the same game to create a world that feels truly alive.

It would make you care a lot more about quests if Mankrik's wife was a vendor last week with two kids playing next to her instead of the same fresh corps as 3 years ago.

It would bring more community into play as well since you wouldn't be able to look up stuff online as easily.

Played again tonight, I don't see this game being ready in 2 weeks.

1) A lot of quests are still buggy as hell. NPC's not spawning, doors not opening, Items not being present.
2) You can fall through the map, this seems new as I hadn't had this issue but It happened twice tonight I open a door run into a building but it has no floor and I fall and fall and fall.
3) Combat still seems way off, I know they said they fixed things but the jump strike for nightblade still deals damage without actually jumping you to the target, the aiming is freaking terrible in third person, and blocking and interrupting seems to only work half the time.
4) Ive been stuck in a disguise for a quest I did 2 hours ago. Literally running around as a dude, when im a foxy wood elf beotch.
5) NPC's seem to be wigging out with their options.
6) The god damn quests are still buggy as hell (I know I said this before but since its the only "real" way to get EXP its kind of a big @#%^ing deal).

I think I said it before, or maybe I said it on the ESO forums but my god this Beta feels a hell of a lot like the first FFXIV Beta, and I think this company is in for a world of hurt if they try and push this to launch in 2 weeks. People aren't going to tolerate sh*t not working when they actually have to pay to play.

I also didn't include laggy stuff because that might just be beta server issues but
~ Skipping along where your guy all the sudden goes from 0-100mph in a second is whack
~ Dudes are not dying when they should empty health bars and they just stay on screen and about 10 seconds later fall over dead
~ Game will pause randomly for 5-10 seconds and then catch up to itself (They said this would occur in the patch notes though but don't have a fix for it yet.)

I said the same thing a couple of sessions ago. I haven't had time to get in to this round yet, hopefully today.

Well, having both moons is a +1 for ESO, at least.

Kinda happy I didn't bother patching up the launcher.

I dunno, But I just opened a door to a bar and got stuck in the wall? Couldn't /reloadui /stuck didn't work and then I relogged to my chickiepoo falling going ahhhh, ahhhhh, ahhhh, ahhhh, ahhhh, ahhhh.

But /stuck worked that time. But seriously this game isn't ready for a launch in 2 weeks. Save your money folks.

It's nice to know that as we progress further through this beta, the game is getting prettier, but more buggy. Obviously they're focused on the wrong aspects of development.

Yeah that was... wow. I've already pre-ordered the game so I'm in anyway, but... wow. This will not be a smooth launch. And when people get a bad first impression things never go well. I predict a bit of a crash and burn here, unless they can work a miracle. The trouble is, after putting in a lot of work to achieve the miracle, when they arrive at the final climactic miracle location, it will not spawn.

(Edit: Don't get me wrong, I'll still be logging in immediately when early access begins. I'll just be one of those people who gives them my money and then ******* and moans about it as if it was taken at gunpoint.)

The ironic thing is that XIV:ARR's first alpha in December 2012 was more polished than the state of TESO beta today. SE got burned and learned their lesson. Too bad Bethesda didn't learn from SE's mistakes. Smiley: disappointed

I would hope it was A Real Reborn was just that. A new game because the first was a complete **** up. Comparing ARR toi ESO is pretty trivial considering that Bethesda and Zenimax have never had an MMO on market before this is their first go. SE on the other hand tossed up a tater they worked on for like 5 years, only to abandon it after a year and recreate the whole thing in ARR, despite already having nearly a decade of experience in the MMO market with FFXI.

That being said, the unplayable state ESO was in during the last beta was very reminiscent of FFXIV Version 1.

I'll just wait for them to muck up the launch, lose most of the customer base before they fix the problems, and then have to go F2P just to keep the game running. With any luck they'll have fixed the bugs by then and I can play the game they wanted to have at launch for free a year or two later. All part of the plan.

Don't laugh, it worked with SWTOR. Smiley: wink

Well I for one am now completely pumped for Sunday's early access start, and I take back every concern I ever had in beta. I can't wait to play this game.

Why, you ask?

They posted an article about end-game today. Mentioned as a possibility: HORSE RACING!

Even cooler than pet battles! Seriously, I almost swooned. Can I, like, breed horses with different skill sets and stuff? OMG. Swooning.

But my particular quirks aside, this is a pretty wide variety of stuff for a brand new game - some have launched with no endgame at all. I'm not mentioning any names. They know who they are. This would be a nice foundation to build on.

They say they've fixed the bug that was causing all the quest bugs. I'll report back after this weekend and let you know if the cake is a lie.

I gave it 9 months on the last day of Beta. I said it would be FTP by Christmas.

I dont give it that long.... Its going to be similar to SWTOR.... the difference is that SWTOR actually looked and played good.. it just had no end game. ESO has terrible graphics.. tons of bugs and the fact you can not explore an open world... Is a death nail.... I give it 2 months tops before the subscription base begins dropping... then another 1-2 months and the game will go F2P.

How did the pre-release go?

I feel like I'm missing out with this game, but probably I"m just missing out on another crap mmo....

I'm particularly interested in not missing out on decent realm vs realm pvp. Anyone tried it much?

Oh, right, that's coming out. The level of disinterest I have in the game is kind of ridiculous, given the ES title.

The level of buzz for the game is really super low. I mean, it's not surprising, but that doesn't bode well.

What are the chances of arrival?
