Having some trouble focusing on my quests but that's ok. Wandering around on the island is fun. I jumped on a box and fell through the world...

Also the lighting is nice!

I had real issues with the lighting. Like I could never get enough of it.

/Zone told me to log back in again. So I did and was still falling. But! This time I fell into magical water of the void of some sort and was immediately eaten by slaughterfish. Thus gaining an achievement for being eaten by slaughterfish. After that I was able to rez at the stone back on the island.

All in all it worked out pretty good.

That happened to someone in the first beta cycle. Depressing that they never fixed it.

Some things like that happened in WoW way after it was released, the problem with a giant world is that there could always be little flaws somewhere and they're bloody hard to find without reports.

I think the not being able to group with friends without wanting to commit bloody murder thing is a much more important and game breaking bug.

Just FYI, they're billing for the subscription up front. Whether it's just a hold or an actual charge, it's *********

Wait, as in, they're billing you for the 30 days you get after the free 30 days?

Wooooooooow.

They're requiring you to set up your sub plan, including payment information. You don't get billed until the free 30 days are up. It's a bit odd.

I started having a ton of fun right around level 10. I'm thinking it might keep me entertained longer than I thought. I give it 3 months at least.

Haven't seen a quest bug since the big bad downtime, everything's running very smoothly. Um, except for Shoj falling through the world, but that's what he gets for being Aldmeri.

I heard they are secretly stealing children and selling them to EA.

Also I did have a busted quest in AD Island. But after consulting the mighty oracle (Google) I was able to complete it by dropping it and redoing it in the correct order.

Now I am trying out a Daggerfall Imperial Dragon knight. Because D's.

No, they're billing you. There's currently a pending charge of $14.99 from ELDRSCROLS on my credit card.

Well they're not billing me. I made two transactions with them yesterday, upgrade to the IE (shut up, I had my reasons Smiley: wink) and setting up my sub plan. The IE upgrade is showing as pending on my credit card. The sub payment is not, and my ESO account specifically shows that I'll be billed for that in May. Perhaps a mistake with your account?

Edit: I haz answers! http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/discussion/comment/544076

Quote:
We require you to choose a subscription option and enter valid payment information. For credit cards, debit cards and PayPal there is no charge made until after your included 30 days of game time has expired. For these payment methods, there is an authorization check performed to ensure the payment method is valid. You may see a temporary account authorization hold put on funds in your account while the verification completes. Usually this authorization hold lasts a short period of time before being removed. It can vary from bank to bank.

So they're not really billing you. They're just, um, temporarily pretending to bill you? Because they don't want your fifteen bucks, they just want to make sure you have fifteen bucks?

Also Shojindo, I am a Daggerfall Dragonknight. We are the coolest. Smiley: cool

I've never seen an authorization hold for more than $1, ever. And my CC usually lists Authorization holds and pending charges differently, mine's listed as a pending charge.

Either way I just figured I'd warn people about it. It's ignorant whatever it is.

Yeah, I've definitely only seen $1 holds. That's odd. Also, uncool.

Well I hate to buck the trend here, but much like Shoj and teacake I too am enjoying this game. I love the look of it, I have had no problems with the quests or with logging in, and I have not had a single "go kill X number of Y for me" yet. I can't say it's easy either; although the earlier quests in a quest line are easier, the difficulty seems to ramp up as you go down the line.

Very reminiscent of ES single player for me so far, but I am impatient to a fault so I'm trying really hard not to race through stuff.

Oh, and I already have two alts . . . Smiley: oyvey

EDIT: since I don't want to sound like a fanboy, I'll add a con to the pros above: I have not seen a single butterfly yet! Zenimax, I am disappoint. (I did catch quite a few torchbugs though).

Yeah, I feel like the game must have gotten better or something because I'm having lots of fun. Dragon knight is so kick ***. Going SnB and stonefist knock over with enhanced weapon to sunder/puncture stab seems really solid.

The Akavari imperial heavy armor looks great. I've crafted myself the chest and legs so far. I'm going to go on a walkabout to find more ore or stuff to break down and try to make the rest. Will post screenie. when complete.

Also the AD starter zone has tons of butterflies. And you can totally catch them ;)

My dragonknight is a fire mage in light armor with a destro staff. Such is the beauty of ESO - a DK can be anything! Smiley: grin

But I keep deleting her and starting over (every time is "this is the last time!") so I haven't gotten past level 13.

You can still be my bro. Mines a SnB, crusty lambchop burns, with a samurai topknot guy. Knocking stuff over with stonefist is probably my favorite thing.

He also enjoys walks on the beach, to stab mudcrabs.
