Seriously. I thought my old 2 hour a day commute was bad. 3-4 hours every day would drive me insane.

Yeah, it's really, REALLY not awesome.

I'm starting to look for work in NYC. Bus ride there would technically be a slightly longer commute, but it would mean a longer commute of primarily free time. I get... angry... when driving. Add in the fact that I love to read and the bus is naturally preferable for me.

Until then, I'll just continue spending a ludicrous percentage of my paycheck on gas. Oh, and tolls. About $5 a day in tolls.

I'm kind of disappointed that Elder Scrolls Online is separating up players by platform. PS4 only plays with PS4, XBone with XBone, PC/Mac with PC/Mac. Basically three separate games.

That sounds like an absolutely awful idea.

I guess this just means they'll have fewer servers, but already separating your MMO community into thirds will hurt in a game that will have a focus on PvP... or at least that's my take on it.

I can always hope beyond hope that this means they'll be designing a game intended to be played with M+KB rather than one intended to be played with a controller.

According to the interview, they did it because of PVP. Apparently they felt the differences between Mouse/Keyboard and Controller would be enough to give one or the other an advantage/disadvantage. Kind of bogus reasoning in my book. Then again, they said that a player housing system would be too complicated to implement in the MMO back in the beginning announcements too (dunno if that has changed since).

M+KB is a huge advantage over controller. Which is why console FPS's usually have aim assist and PC ones don't (or have the option to turn it off).

Free-to-play online games will not require PS+.

It's surprising they consider it an advantage is an MMO though. Definitely splitting up makes sense for FPS games though... but didn't I hear Destiny would not be segregated?

Wait, the game focuses on PVP? And there isn't player housing?

I think it's related with the ability to turn accurately at a much faster rate on PC... but just my guess. I say let them face the master race like the peasants they are.

Didn't you hear, it has nothing to do with TES anymore, it's DAOC 2.0. They're just cashing in on the name.

I've been trying REALLY hard to keep an open mind on the game. This is not helping.

When I first heard about it I wanted it to die in a fire. Then I heard they were changing a lot of the things that pissed me off so I set aside my anger of yet another franchise I hold dear being utterly destroyed due to greed and stupidity, and started to look into it again. Then I wanted it to die in a fire all over again for a huge list of all new reasons.

If PVP and lack of housing are what's bothering you, just stop right now. The rest of the crap they've done will **** you off.

I may have just let out a disgruntled groan.

I just don't get why they'd make it a PVP-centric game? That boggles my mind.

I mean, let's point out that the only PVP MMO that has done well is EVE, which is essentially a different genre. So it's already a risky proposition.

But why the hell would you take ES, which has always been a solo PVE experience, and decide that it needs to be a multiplayer PVP experience?

How does that make any sense?

Honestly, if they had just made multiplayer Skyrim, and used city wards to open up player housing (maybe with some in-game manors that required high taxes in upkeep or something, for prestige), I feel like their profit potential would be way higher.

I just don't see most MMO players playing for PVP.

I have zero interest in a PVP-centic MMORPG. And I'm equally perplexed why they'd take one of the main single-player RPG games these days and make it a PVP game.

Unless, as said, they're just whoring out the name license at this point.

Does anyone know how PvP-centric the game will be?

I know there will still be a lot of PvE too and only certain areas will allow PvP, so I didn't think it was the primary focus of the game... but it's not some small part of the game either.

The game's core focus is PVP. The Emperor of Cyrodiil is chosen based on PVP rankings, which alone tells you pretty much everything you need to know about where the focus lies.

Here's the PVP info TGS just put up from E3

PVP doesn't make it crap, scraping everything TES in favor of that PVP while still cashing in on that TES name makes it crap.

That doesn't even make sense to me, because doesn't it seem like their profit would be way higher as a PVE game?

This. Having extensive PVP opportunities is one thing, having PVP lie at the core of the gameplay is another.

Also, how the hell are we "choosing" an emperor? Is this just some random period where someone in the Septim line happens to not be on the throne for a short while?

And is the Emperor going to be a player, or the NPC leader of that faction?

Also, also, I'm going to be PISSED if the first ESO game that allows you to become a leader and issue orders/make laws is the goddamn MMO. I've been wanting that for a loooong time.
