Just finished this game...and I have to say it is probably top 5 PS3 games to date. Maybe even top 5 of all console titles in this generation (I dunno I stopped buying Xbox games 2 years ago.)

I was seriously debating buying it yesterday. I've heard so many great things about it, and I was already out running errands (being sick for a week really destroys your supply of groceries).

I figure the first time I see it at any kind of serious sale price, I'll grab it.

Enjoy playing 40% of the game in the dark, cause the flashlight will get you killed.

Also, build the holsters and upgrade Weapon Sway first. Save Shiv Master for last.

Shiv Master is only a last minute save ability in case you get grabbed by a clicker. It doesn't even let you insta-kill them like a normal shiv-ing will do.

Yeah it was. What really shows off the design was the way they really guided me through the area without resorting to an obvious and/or closed path or invisible walls. I reacted to what was happening, ran like hell in the direction that my instinct took me, and it progressed. I have no clue if there were other options or not, and I didn't care at the time because my brain was screaming GET HER TO SAFETY NOW.

And then it ripped my heart out.

Every section of the main story path is marked in yellow. Make sure you look around everywhere else first to grab supplies and hear/read side story pieces.

Stalkers aggro sight and sound, but you can survive being grabbed by them.
Clickers aggro sound, but getting grabbed without Shiv Master is insta-death.
Multi-spoiler tag for your gaming pleasure.Bloaters are the same as Clickers but they are heavily armored, used ranged attacks, and are True Sound.

I don't think there are other options. The brother pretty much guides you the right way.

Stopped paying attention to him pretty quickly, once cars were crashing and buildings were on fire.

And thanks.

I just met Ellie. So far, I like her. Stopped literally right after that, though.

Just picked this game up over the weekend. according to the save file, I'm about 1/3 through. And, man, I haven't had a game keep my attention like this in a long time.

Does what faction I pick in multiplayer matter?

And is MP worth playing?

No clue, and only if you want the trophies for them. It doesn't affect SP at this time.

MP is very well done. I thought they managed to capture how frantic survival is in the single player game, and translate it to a multiplayer experience. If you like competitive multiplayer, it's worth a go.

[EDIT]

Also, should I have had a tool by the time I first reached a workbench? Because I didn't.

No, you won't get your first tool until you meet Bill.

I think I still have a "Sights and Sounds" DLC code if anyone is interested. I got it for preordering from Amazon, but the game came with it inside as well. Not sure if all the copies come with it, or just the first prints / preorders.

All it is is two PSN avatars, a Dynamic Theme, and a Soundtrack DL. Nothing in game.
