Depends on how many hours a day he's put into it and what "Powered through" means. I'm a couple fairly casual hours in and haven't run into Elizabeth yet. You know, stopping and listening to all the conversations, looking in all the kineoscopes and watching the little movies, etc.

(So please spoiler tag any spoilers for me kkthx~la)

That seems ... unsettlingly short.

I feel the same. My friend said he beat it with about 8 hours played. I think that's way too short, but he said it was perfect. He doesn't like longer games though.

Anyone want to admit to being "that guy" when throwing the baseball?

Does it even let you throw the baseball?

Add native americans, orientals, & irishmen to the list of the sky city's discriminated...

Good thing they wrapped it up in so much Americana?

Love the game so far. Boy, is it gorgeous.

What's weird is that had a Buddhist Monk specifically in the Washington portrait, and I'm not even sure what nationality the two dying on the left were supposed to be.

I've no idea. Was wondering if the result was any different from the "good" response.

Sounds historically accurate for the Gilded Age.

Ditto. Though getting destroyed by gunfire on easy mode is definitely slowing me down.

Getting annoyed with the "can only carry two weapons at a time" realism bullsh*t in these games. Smiley: mad

Edit: I mean FPS', not Bioshock games since you could carry all the weapons in the other two.

Seriously? You can only carry two weapons in B:I? That is really annoying. I loved the versatility of weapons you could get in the original Bioshock.

Jah I am ~4 hours in and taking my time to savor everything as much as possible. I have been exploring every nook and cranny for stuff and have found some nifty upgrades that way. (Like my big boy pants that make my melee weapon catch people on fire) (The melee weapon seems very strong when you get rushed) Also I enjoy listening to gramnamaphones, or reading the propaganda.

I was a bit annoyed to have to throw out full ammo pistol to try the shotgun as well but I can get over it.

Finally I think I have been playing to many free ecchi MMO's. (Scarlet Blade, Tera) Because when: The sign said "Specimen Location: Dressing Room" I was like alright alright giggidy. Then I opened the slide window and went.Smiley: frown

So far I've only been carrying the Carbine and the Rocket Launcher because they pretty much cover all weapon types.

My Playtime (According to Steam) Is 14 hours. Knock off 2 hours for breaks etc, with the game running. I had about 70/80 Vox's, I completed most of the Optional missions I found, may have missed some. I did die a bit later on in the game (Last few hours). I would put the total time @ about 10-11 hours for a "normal" first time play through. I did try to find all of the Voxaphones but missed a few I guess.

One thing I noticed is the Steam achieves now say your at X of X towards an achievement, which is nice. I mainly used Carbine + Sniper Rifle for most of the game. Switching out The sniper for Shotgun/machine gun when ammo got low.

BTW as for game length, IMHO, Its long enough to tell everything well, short enough to not get stale gameplay wise.

If I were to rate the game I would put it 96/100, and I never beat Bioshock 1/2. This is actually one of the few FPS Single player games I was able to play all the way through, and not be completely bored half way through.

I was that guy with the baseball. I figured it would be best to try to blend in, I didn't get to throw it though.

Did you run into the couple again, or did you get any items from people that were behind your choice?

Yes, you do run into them again.I don't think you get anything from choosing either or

I'm thinking about running the game again choosing the opposite options just to see the changes.

I know you run into them again because I did so, and since I didn't throw at them they gave me a piece of gear. I wanted to see if anyone gave you an item if you did throw at the couple.

Weird, I don't remember getting gear/upgrade bottle from them :s I remember them talking to me, but nothing else. I should note the first day I was playing I got a massive headache (Probably because I didnt turn my FOV up enough), So I may have missed it from that, but I was pretty good about trying to find everything. /shrug

Ok now that I am getting more weapons options I am having some small trouble deciding what I like best. I pretty much always want a sniper rifle in any FPS and it hip shoots surprisingly well so that's one for sure.

So far I am trying to guess if I need to nuke something hard with the RPG soon or if I would rather plow with the shotgun for my alternate. The carbine also seems like a very nice all around weapon.

I guess I just need to get over the "Must never throw away new weapon" feeling I have and just relax. Because so far it seems to seed you with what you might need before an encounter. Also I started on medium and it is a bit too easy. Should have went hard. But I can see myself playing again on hard so I am not switching it just yet.

I put spoiler tags because some people may not want to hear gun strategy from me for later game. I dont spoil anything about the plot, just a bit on how gun are towards end game.

Weapons I put money into Pistol, Shotgun, machinegun, Carbine, Sniper. I would skip pistol and Shotgun, they are useful but late game just dont stand up or drop to often. Machine gun seems like 90% of the NPC's use, so Its relatively easy to keep a good stock of free Bullets, but still try to conserve some ammo(Not that bullets are expensive from the shop). Carbine is awesome maxed if you have a good trigger finger(CQC) or from range (ADS) picking off It took about 1-2 HS from distance to drop most, Like 3-4 Body shots. Sniper is always useful and fully upgraded can One shot most fodder even on body, and many encounters give you plenty of room use it. Its pretty ammo conscious, but for bigger enemies It doesnt work very well without a ton of Vigor distractions.

I never did play around with the later weapons much. I would suggest putting some into RPG(Damage).

I'm fairly confident you can switch during the game. At least the difficulty selector is there when I go into Options.

Oh I know. But that is against my gamer way or something. ( I think I just want an excuse to play through again and try different things from the dominate strategies I am using in this play.)
