Also known as heroine, now with 100% more turn based.

I picked up Civ 5 Gold a little while ago but only got into it recently. I've quickly realized a few things:

Your "friends" the will stab you in the back the instant they think they have a stronger army.

Ghengis Khan can go **** himself.

I like turn based a lot more than I do real time.

Ghengis Khan can go **** himself.

"One more turn before bed" actually means "aw hell I need to be up in an hour."

Ghengis Khan can go **** himself.

Especially with them announcing a new expansion pack, is anyone here still playing Civ 5? I realize I'm a little late to the bandwagon.

I heard about the new expansion. Supposed to really expand diplomacy, including a World Congress where you can conduct embargoes on rogue nations, pass resolutions, etc.

Most importantly, Poland will be a full starting Civilization. Smiley: thumbsup

Yeah, and Diplomacy really needs it. As it stands right now, the "Diplomatic" the victory is achieved just by buying enough UN votes to be elected World Leader. You just bribe everyone you can the turn before a vote.

Not exactly "diplomatic"

I like the game, but everything about its diplomacy system is painfully broken.

I think most of the issues stem from the AI aggression being tied too directly to the player's army strength.

Yeah I dig civ 5 but the diplomacy is just utterly terrible. You know who I hate? Ghandi. He's the most annoying cpu opponent in the game. And now, i feel like diving in the rabbit hole. Thanks a lot.

Can't be worse than spending the evening downloading hacked pokes for fun and entertainment, I guess. But another expansion? Sometimes I feel like these expansions only exist to remind me to play games I haven't played since the last expansion came out.

I have it and the Gods and Kings Expansion, but its another game on my list of have yet to play. Partly do to the fact I remember playing Civ 4(maybe 3) and then next thing I knew it was a few days later and I hadn't accomplished anything. Seriously if there was any game where you lose time its Civ's.

I've got it and I still play it fairly regularly. In fact, I wasn't sure if I wanted to play Sim City tonight or Civ. I think you just decided for me.

Mario Kart it is!

Just play as Ghengis Khan - best UU in the game.

To be Khan is to love Khan.

You’ll Soon Be Able To Use XCOM Soldiers In Civilization V

Today Firaxis—the makers of both XCOM: Enemy Unknown and Civilization V—announced that you can research something called the XCOM Project in your game of Civ V.

What that does is replace what would normally be paratrooper units with actual XCOM soldiers that drop from the Skyranger. Check out what that looks like in the screenshot above.
