I had JUST gotten the email for mine when I posted that, maybe they are rolling them out in batches?

Does it actually teach you to play? I have it for the 360 but ran into latency issues with my accoustic and it that I never got worked out. Would much rather play it over my $100 starter electric. Should try to get it working correctly again...

I would say yes it teaches you how to play. It starts off very slow and there are a ton of practice sessions to work on chords and picking techniques. I've been playing for about 15 years so I was more interested in it as a game rather than a learning tool.

Latency is probably the biggest obstacle in the game, but it worked pretty well for me right away on PC. I have a bit of lag between when i hit a note and when it shows on screen, but the game counts it and plays the audio for it immediately. Kinda weird. On XBox I wouldn't expect it to be any laggier than Guitar Hero or Rock Band.

Maybe I need to try it again, I was having up to 1 second latency issues when I first got it, which bugged the crap out of me. I'm not a total noob when it comes to playing. 20+ years of study on the piano and 10ish on the trumpet. I actually passed theory 1 and 2 in college without ever opening a text book so little things like that tend to bug the **** out of me. I was using this in it which made it even worse Smiley: lol

That should work fine though. Things I've read say that the xbox needs to be hooked up with an analog video and analog audio source, and all post-processing on the TV needs to be turned off (or use "gaming mode") to eliminate all lag.

edit:
http://rocksmith.ubi.com/rocksmith/en-US/setup/index.aspx I guess that shows the best setup using hdmi and digital audio, maybe it can all be corrected in the games settings then.

Ya analog is about the only thing I didn't try since I've always gone HDMI and not sure where that connector is that came with the xbox is anymore...

*edit* I guess I need to hook the 360 direct to the surround sound system them. Its so easy coming out of the TV though, alot less cables needed Smiley: tongue

Was playing SWTOR for a while, but I got tired of the constant bugginess and gave it a rest. Next tried DA2 and couldn't get into it. Then was a couple months of Skyrim, which I'm still playing around on. Five different characters, 200hours, and I don't think I've gotten more than 1/3 of the way through it.

Recently went back to WoW and am running around doing old raids and playing with the companion pets (and of course, messing with the AH!). Will buy new expansion soon, and that should keep me busy for a while. Good times. Smiley: grin

It only tracks GFWL achievements if you have their desktop program installed, which allows them to scan the local data for earned achievements.

Aliens: Colonial Marines is officially live today and seems to be getting savaged in the reviews. Gearbox is already fingerpointing at Timegate as the outsourced studio who did most of the single player campaign work. Anyone own it and want to chime in? Glad I decided against a pre-order even at $30.

BeanX, I'm also on Ascension Valley in Tera Online if you or you and your wife are ever looking for a third. Have a slayer (Inlee) at 16 and my mystic (Raheli) is... 15? Maybe 14 and change. Whatever.

I don't own it but if that picture is accurate, I'm horrified, but not in the way the developers intended.

A couple games for me:

Witcher 2: I'm finding it very mixed thus far. The whole notion of using potions before combat seems flawed - It's hard to prepare properly when I don't know when or how combat will be occurring, and I find the system tedious to begin with. Too many important abilities seem to be locked away down the talent trees, so I feel kind of neutered, and the spells and abilities don't seem to bind or activate properly for me. I set combat to Easy and have decided that I'll button mash my way through the game for as long as it'll serve; I just don't care about the combat.

They killed the most interesting character in the game in the first couple of scenes (Foltest), and seemingly the second most interesting character a few scenes later (Aryan La Vallette) and I'm having trouble warming up to Geralt and his quiet form of rogueishness.

All that said, it's a beautiful game, it takes its lore seriously, and there's a veritable ton of voicework. I like the world and the characters I meet, I just wish everything else was as enjoyable.

You can't do anything about Faltest, but La Vallette can be saved if you make the right choices. As to game play, I agree about potions, which is why I didn't use them much. The only time I used them was when I knew that I was I about to get into a fight (usually because I died and had to try it again). I found the best thing to do is to concentrate on the sword path and dabble in the magic. I thoroughly enjoyed my first play through and want to go at it again but choose to side against the squirrles and see what I missed out on. I just have so many other games to play.

Also, just today I won my first game from Steamgifts, a copy of the Steam Mass Effect collection. I already have ME2 on the 360, and a copy on Origin, that I picked up for free at some point. I never did play the first game though, so I might look into that.

Right now I'm doing a mix of Mechwarrior Online and Skyrim. The Dragonborn DLC is fairly massive, easily thirty plus hours of content. Definitely worth the money for that one. Dawnguard was kind of meh, really just a mission pack, not a full expansion. As far as Hearthfire is concerned, I've actually spent far more time than I thought I would mucking about with the house I built than I thought I would. It would have been nice to have had that as part of the base game instead of being a DLC though.

I played bought Tera awhile back and never made it out of my first month, but that's enough to be eligible for the founders perks. I wonder if I come back to the game if I'll still be able to get those gold weapons skins I was due for buying the game during it's first month of release?
