Hearthstone babble and other random gamesFollow

I somehow ended up watching a bunch of Starcraft 2 matches. It all started out when I was watching TableTop, and Day[9] was in an episode, so I looked up some of his videos, and transitioned into SC2 matches that his brother commentates on. This just made me want to play an RTS and lo and behold, I came across my olde Starcraft disc.

Starcraft 2 with the new expansion is only $60 in total, and I found a pack with the campaign missions from SC1 in it, complete with all the briefings and music and everything. The only thing they're missing are the cinematics in between some of the missions. So right now, I'm playing through the SC1 campaign in SC2. Fun stuff.

I messed around in Far Cry 3 some more since they added the ability to respawn all the camps. Also did the silly Flash game for Bioshock: Infinite for the in game rewards. Saw that the last reward was just some Facebook avatars and crap so stopped once I had all the in game stuff.

Can still get $14 cash back from GMG. At least that'll take a little of the pain off paying full price.

I'm off from work today and have been chugging my way through Tomb Raider which I had set aside for Tera. But now with Bioshock coming out tomorrow, I didn't want TR to go completely ignored.

In retrospect, I should have taken tomorrow off instead

They're still supporting that game? Jesus.

It's the most profitable game they've ever made. After 6 years of largely ignoring it, they decided to print some money.

Hey, they've got to fund not-releasing Versus somehow.

Somebody needs to explain to these MMO developers the concept of a fractured consumer base.

This. Especially if folks been playing an mmo for 5 to 10 years, that represents a lot of investment in a character/account - especially with a game like XI which allows all jobs to be played on one character. I know for myself my playtime is so casual that even starting over from the 2 years progress I have on this character would be pretty daunting. I have less time to play MMOs every year, not more time... and they are a genre that really favours long term investment.

To be honest in terms of the fractured playerbase I do think it would have been more sensible for SE to give more love to XI (and market it better, crikes WoW is CONSTANTLY marketing at me) than to release their utter failure of a game XIV (and now redeveloping it... rereleasing it). I don't see blizzard ******** themselves over that way, but meh.

Yeah I was speaking more to the failures of the second games of these companies. FFXIV for SE, Vanguard for SOE. I'm sure there are a few other examples out there.

Is anyone other than me excited about this remake?


Serious nostalgia there

I spend most of my gaming hours playing EVE Online. The game gets a lot of flak because it can be BOOOOOOOORRRRRRIIIIIINNNNG if you dont know how to play it. But if you get in with a good group of people (read not goons or test) you can have some major fun.

While not eveing it up, I like to play Kerbal Space Program. (Still trying to land on other planets in that game) That game is confusingly fun. Idk why I enjoy that game as much as I do. You build rockets or space planes, send your kerbals into space, or watch them die in glorious fireballs, and generally copy NASA.

Other than that, I mainly switch between several games available to me on steam. DayZ has a big place in my gaming life every now and then. Sins of a Solar empire. XCOM Enemy Unknown, Saints Row the third, Space Pirates and Zombies, Rage (Game was totally underrated), Far Cry 3, and Skyrim. Speaking of elder scrolls, anyone in here excited about Elder Scrolls Online?
