FC3 was a pretty awesome game. There's a mod/hack/tweak to repopulate the enemy bases that I mean to try some day. Running around liberated islands is pretty boring.

Actually Ubi is adding that feature in an update soon, or maybe it's in already. Anyway you need to beat the game first with all outposts conquered, then you get the option to reset them. Unfortunately they decided to have it lock out side quests until the outposts are captured again.

I'll have to pop on and give it a shot. I left a couple outposts hostile on the second island just to ***** around with them so I never hit 100% cleared. Be trivial to do so; it's more work to make sure I don't accidentally kill off the last guy in base Smiley: laugh

Is anyone playing Tera with a controller? I'm a bit curious as to how well it works.

I have mine installed, so the stupid game gives me that gamepad overlay, which is annoying and I havent found an option to turn it off. My wife tried it and other then having to adjust the camera speed said it was "ok"

If i remember correctly from her setting it up their is ALOT of button combos to access different abilities to try and remember. But if you only use 1-4 abilities it wouldnt seem that bad.

On both my sorcerer (which now is getting harder with all his skills), and on my slayer (which is super easy due to less skills). I find it fairly easy, aiming is a bit hard if you're not use to it (which I'm not), so kb/m playing I'm sure is far more accurate.

Default key is the <back> button at least on the xbox controller, and you can adjust a lot of the settings there specific to the controller (or turn the overlay off). The enormous amount of button combos is why I leave mine on...but it's actually not showing a few, if you hold the LB you can use a few of the directional keys are programmed too, but they never show on the overlay!!! Smiley: mad

Also a big one, even if you dont use the controller is "use skill in direction of" setting... <direction of crosshairs> ..all your skills will auto face you where your target is pointed, or <direction of character> , only some skills will fire in your target area, others (i think most melee/pbaoe spells) are actually affected by this.

Thanks to all of you guys talking, I downloaded and installed this last night. You might happen to see a Lancer running around Ascension Valley using my name. The game might not play nice with my old PC even though it's above requirements, so if that's the case I'll have to redownload on my gaming PC.

On Tera:

I liked the controller best with melee. On a Warrior it works great with all the flipping and positional being complemented by wide arching blender swords. Same for slayer.

On my Mage and Ranger I preferred KnB.

on FC:

The checkpoints in FC2 were just a bit over tuned. Clearing 3 of them for the tenth time to get to a mission area you have already explored earlier, then having to clear the same 3 on the way back to the buss got kind of old. I prefer the sense of progress in FC3 so far. Maybe their can be a happy medium though. I have seen mods for FC3 now that respawn them as well.

I'm doing side missions and hunts as I go in FC3 rather than just clearing the entire island. I'm not moving to the next mission until I exhaust the current area I opened for neat stuff.

I liked FC2 when I played it but I'm sure playing it now, after FC3, would make the insta-respawn checkpoints that much more painful. I still think they overdid it with the FC3 system of permanently cleared bases.

I could see using a controller for my Slayer or even my Lancer. The thought of trying to play Mystic on a controller gives me hives.

TERA will be free starting on February 5th 2013. - That's my excuse.
Pretty much this. There was never enough buzz about it to make me consider paying for it, but when it went free, suddenly enough folks were talking about it to make me somewhat interested in it.

Not the only one, last night it was me saying: "I swear things are taking a long time to kill!" Smiley: rolleyes

I got my lancer to 27 last night and decided to try the second dungeon with her. Went in, tanked it, did okay but it was a bit of a pain and hit 28. Went back to town to find my level 24, 26 & 28 skills waiting for me Smiley: dubious

Including, of course, an upgrade to my aggro yell and another pulling/aggro skill.

Provided that someone is on Ascension Valley, they should. Otherwise I don't care!

I hit 24 last night on my Warrior and tanked the bosses in BoL last night. The party was Warrior x2, 2 other dps, healer. It was a pug, not a dungeon finder group and I noticed about a 1/4 of the way through no one was tanking trash, when I asked who was tanking someone said we all were [::rolleyes:]. Half way through the rock boss I was sick of him running around like a chicken with his head cut off so switched to Defensive mode, tossed Cross guard as my tab, and it went a bit smoother from there. For the trash I just decided to not tank,as it seemed pointless as everyone kind of just soloed their own mobs/helped others after.

The 2nd boss I was a tad more setup for,as I went in expecting to tank, Warcry (Aoe taunt/stun chance) and My spin move thats high aggro pretty much kept the boss on me. Cross guard + Evasion Roll, and I barely took any damage, and Smoke warrior is awesome, It chains after a successful cross guard and teleports me behind the boss transferring all my aggro to it for about 5 seconds.

As for a guild if no one else feels like it I can make it, or figure out how to later this afternoon. I should be the last choice as I bounce around games so much but eh w/e.

Add Xain on Ascension Valley or something.

I made a Warrior, and got frustrated with not being able to find out how to invert the Y axis on my controller. I guess I'll have to go with the KB/M. All I've done so far is talk to three medics on a beach or something.

Don't get too accustomed to the like nine skills you have. They went the "massively leveled for the tutorial, depowered back to level 1 upon entering the real game" route.

Yeah that was crazy. I spent half the prologue trying to figure out what buttons to press, only to find myself with 2 choices once the game started. I was happy they let us start simple, but ugh that optional stuff left a sour taste in my mouth. For my money just skip it, there's not much there anyway.

Open the options menu, scroll down to the Mouse section, and look for the "Reverse Camera Y axis". I have no idea why it's under the Mouse section. It's too bad you guys are all on the wrong damn server...
