Serious nostalgia there

Pretty much just for the moon theme.

I managed to meet my set goal and exceed it. I beat Bioshock 2, Infamous (platinum), and Infamous 2. I am 28/40 missions through my platinum playthrough on hard so no idea how much longer that will take. A few hours maybe, assume I'm going to die a lot since speeding through. Waiting to buy Bioshock Infinite until I can get it at a sub $30 price point on PS3. Soul Sacrifice in about 30 days and Last of Us soon. For this coming month, I'm planning on beating Nier, Deus Ex, and The Sly Collection.

Check out Guacamelee, this might be under some radars. It's a Metroidvania game with an interesting premise.

Hmm Think we should make a Backlog update thread? Sundays, challenge yourself to beat X number of games that week, write your impressions of those games for others to view on Saturday? Or just what you've been playing that week?

Im sure most of us have huge backlogs, may be an interesting idea.

I need to buy one more game to cross the $200 threshold for the PSN Store deal this month. With the $40 back, going to get DJ Max Technika Tune. Also, I got a 3DS XL at Target for $159 and got 17 DS games and 4 3DS games. My backlog has gone from a hugely extensive list of PS3 games to now include a few dozen Vita games (Soul Sacrifie 4/30). I think I could game for longer than a year right now, and I'm FINALLY!!!!! enthusiastic about gaming again. I've been playing a lot of Hot Shots Golf Vita on the side and some of the indie Vita games (Rocketbirds, Life of Pixel, Nun Attack, Knytt Undetground and Dokuro mainly).

I feel kind of like a heroin addict, except with video games.

Video games are the new anime.

Anyway, I was going to play some more Tera today, but it turns out Terraria is out on the PS3 with up to four player split screen co-op. So I stayed up about three hours past my bedtime playing that. Was not expecting the arrival of the harpies when I started building my skybridge to go gather some easy early materials.

Terraria was announced on Vita yesterday. Eight player online, no word on crossbuy/save/play. I have yet to play Terraria. I spent too much time on Minecraft and will wait for the Vita version. Need to play games while motivated. TBH, expecting a Minecraft for PS3 (likely Vita) very soon. Probs retail release of Minecraft as well.

I kind of got "done" with Terraria when it changed from a casual world builder with some RPG elements to all this Super Boss Death Mode nonsense but my kid bought it for the PS3 yesterday and has been playing the heck out of it. He had it for the PC as well but the PC isn't in his bedroom.

I almost finished Tales of Innocence today. But after an almost cake walk of a last quarter of the game, the final boss wipes the floor with me. Don't feel like grinding out any more levels tonight...

There are so many good games coming out this year and next, my God, it's overwhelming. I just finished my March goal! I wanted to beat three openish world games off of my backlog. I beat Bioshock 2, and I got the platinum trophy in both Infamous 1/2 (had no intention of doing this and got caught up collecting blast shards and figured why not). I also got some good headway in minor games. I'm moving into a new place May 1 and just boxed up all my games, save the four most likely I will play for April (doing four this month). Uncharted, Deus Ex Human Revolution, Sly Collection, and Nier. I also plan on playing 999 at some point this month and logging some serious DS Castlevania and Contra 4 action. Virtues Last Reward is one of the free PS+ games this month so hype mode is engaged.

I still have Atelier Rurona and Atelier Totori Plus to get through for RPG's. I haven't even touched my copy of Fire Emblem yet. I think when I die, I want it to be from gaming related stress and not something like choking on food, getting run over by a car or something else silly like diabetes or a heart attack. Smiley: frown

I haven't beaten a game in years. I'm the worst.

I should do a challenge thread for myself... pick a game and start at the beginning and finish it.

I won't

Heck, even finishing fire emblem, that should be achievable, I am loving the heck out of that game, but... yeah. Um, failing.

Well we could definitely start one. Maybe a Monthly "I plan on trying to play and beat Xgame,Xgame,Xgame. This month and have weekly updates in the thread, with thoughts opinions, ramblings.

Unfortunately I may be taking an internet break here In a month due to Life issues, and may be net less for a bit. Which could be good or bad, Im planning on filling my 500gig HD with all my steam games so I have stuff to do. (Download everything switch steam to offline mode)

Figured we all have Backlogs, and would be a nice way to see what everyone is playing or something.

My husband went out of town last Friday for 2.5 weeks. Saturday I downloaded EQ. Last night I finally logged in. I rolled a Gnomish Necro. The game wouldn't let me start in Akanon. I had to start in the Gloomingdeep tutorial or the newbie area that I forget the name of but was added with the Serpent's Spine expansion.

I opted for Gloomingdeep. I figured refresher training was probably necessary. After about 45mins I had managed to kill only about 8 rats/bats. I think my UI is broken or maybe didn't load right. I can't seem to get descriptions of any items or spells or anything. I blindly put some arm gear an npc game me onto my character. For all I know they're cursed. In combat I randomly hit spells that I figured would do damage (a spell named Life-tap was a pretty good bet). But I never found an item description in any of the various places I looked.

Tomb Raider starts off pretty cool. Well once I disabled exclusive full screen to stop the kaleidoscope of death bug. I'm digging the visceral action sequences. They have made me kinda jump and laugh IRL a few times already. I almost want to see the gruesome way Lara will die sometimes if I mess up.

Also her hair looks fabulous. In fact the graphics are pretty stunning in general so far.

I played (and reviewed) The Bridge. Can't really recommend it.

Moving on to Deadlight now, and I'll be reviewing Monaco when it comes out on the 24th. I'll be looking for peeps to play co-op with on the latter, so lemme know if you'll be grabbing it.

Played about 15 minutes of I Am Alive. Annoying visuals (grey and bloom), sluggish controls and my character can apparently scale a suspended bridge support but can't just climb over the hood of the car blocking his path. There's better ways to spend my gaming time.

Every once in a while, I log into TERA and ask myself, "am I still bored of this?" and my answer yesterday remains a solid "yes".

I stopped playing for Tomb Raider and Bioshock. No idea if/when I'll go back but I'm looking to investigate my backlog for a while first.

The Bridge is an M.C. Escher and Braid-inspired puzzle game. I liked it less than most.

Deadlight's a simulated 3D zombie platformer. Mostly middling reviews, from everything I've seen. The visuals and a sale price sold me on it, so we'll see how it goes.

Monaco is top-down indie heist game. It won a few IGF awards back when it was originally previewed, years ago, and is finally getting released. I've played the beta build of it, and it was a lot of fun, so I'm expecting good things. Best I can describe it is Metal Gear Solid meets Hotline Miami and Ocean's Eleven.

All are PC games, available on Steam.

PS: I should note, I was using the royal "you" in the quote above.

I got Deadlight in that Microsoft bundle from Amazon a while back. I should blow through a couple of those games and feel as though I've accomplished something (so to speak). I have Hotline Miami laying around as well.

I have Dead Space 1 & 2 (and no intent in getting 3). Should I play 1 then 2 or is one of them a vastly superior product?
