Citadel of SorceryFollow

If anyone is looking for an MMORPG to get behind and is tired of the WoW-clones, this would be the one. Citadel of Sorcery http://citadelofsorcery.com/ has started a Kickstarter campaign, and this is a game that HAS to happen! It's everything I've ever wanted in an MMORPG. For me, the biggest draws are the fact that you'll likely never have to do the same quest twice (I DESPISE DAILIES!!!), character customization with over 1800 abilities (something games have been missing since WoW decided that they knew how to allocate stat points better than its players, and the clones followed suit), and a world that is so big, nobody will ever explore the whole thing. Hopefully this game will kick the industry into gear and make people realize that every game doesn't have to follow the WoW mold.

Please, there was <x> spec that everyone went and any deviation from said spec gimped your character to hell. To think otherwise is foolish.

Oh I agree completely. But rather than solve the problem, they just accepted it and adjusted their game to accommodate it. The REAL solution would've been to make it so that the other stat points were more useful so that different builds were still a viable option.

IMO making every character the same is never a best (or even a good) answer. It's just a cheap way out. But with CoS having 1800+ abilities, I can't imagine that would ever be an issue.

If you are going to necro a thread at least make it interesting instead of the generic RPG term that is "player goes on long journey to defeat <x> and save <y>". To say that is overused is an understatement at best.

That game has been in pre-alpha for 7 years? Smiley: eek

Wow, reading the development blog they sound like they're running on a treadmill. Not enough people or funding to ever finish, but enough to keep the project open and alive.
