Wait, there's an Act IV? Jesus Christ, completing Act I was bad enough.

At least at level 15 it was.

Act 1 was Trick or Treating and part 1 of the book quest.

Act 2 was the Mad King's Realm and part 2 of the book quest.

Act 3 is the Mad King's Dungeon.

Act 4 will probably be downing the Mad King.

Act 1/2 stuff is available until the end of the event. Act 3's dungeon will no longer be available at the start of Act IV.

The jumping puzzle was pretty well done, and fun. I do think they should have made everyone the same size for it (i.e. transformed into skeletons and mummies) just so that it would be a bit easier to see what was going on. My Guardian is a female Norn and it was difficult enough to see where I was going on my own, nevermind with a couple male Charr and Norn in there too. Luckily, I clicked to Travel when it found a spot for me not in Tower Overflow, and I had an entire tower instance to myself. Smiley: lol

It would be fun if they'd slow the fog down just enough that you could get past the first part of the stage. Smiley: madSmiley: madSmiley: mad

So hopefully I get power back before the end of the event. I'm gonna be pissed if I did all that work just to lose out on the meta...

At least you will have all day to get it, it sounds as simple as heading to LA to where the event was...and just be there... of course not having power would be a major factor in your attendance, but at least you dont have to worry about it only be at a set time.

I've spent the last few hours attempting the clock tower. Made it to that gear after the big leap, but missed the stairs. XD

Good thing is that I'm so happy to have power and internet again, I can't get mad at the puzzle. Which is definitely helping.

When I made this map I was HOPING that people who aren’t into jumping would do exactly this. They’d see a fun Halloween looking environment, maybe get to the first chest and snag a goodie, then be on their merry way. I see now it was a mistake to make the hardest jumping challenge in the game part of an in-your-face update like a holiday event. I’m not going to stop making difficult stuff like this, they just won’t be so prominent in the future. I honestly hate making people upset and have a very high level of empathy. So it’s been hard hearing all the people that are so angry, frustrated and sad because of something I’ve made. But it’s just another lesson learned.

From the guy who made the puzzle.

I agree with his analysis. I have no problem with something as hard as the clocktower being in game. I DO have a problem with it only being available for a short period of time. If the difficulty is huge, then you need the time to learn it. The clocktower isn't just a skill barrier, you need to learn the map, the jumps. You need to learn to ignore your character and navigate the map instead.

And you need to have enough time to do this in small bursts.

If you're going to introduce something like the clocktower for a holiday event, you release it (imo) for the month.

agree that this was unfortunate. But it was not intentional. When I designed the map I thought we were going to be able to have single-player instances.

I do, truly feel bad about this. From the ground up, we designed our game mechanics to encourage cooperation and altruism in the community, and this JP’s mechanics broke that design aesthetic. It was an accident, but I still accept responsibility for it.

These were on there being multiple players and the racial disparity in size. He also commented on camera issues, and basically said they as a team are still working on ironing out the camera for gameplay in general, and that sometime a camera issue isn't a design flaw (though that wasn't directed towards the tower). He also said that they learn camera limits by designing specifically to find them.

I could edit one of my last three posts, but it's not my fault you all need to POST MOAR.

So, can I just say...

HELLS YES I FINALLY BEAT THE TOWER.

3:03 AM. I started running it today at 6 AM. And it's all I did. All day. Besides breaks for food, bathroom, shower, occasional 10 minute stops... that's it.

So without even considering the other days I was running the tower... that's a horrifying 21 hours span where the vast majority was spent falling from precariously positioned blocks. I'm going to sleep forever.

Happy November 1st all, remember that you have a new monthly now!

Opening either chest and still beating the puzzle is EXTREMELY hard, because there's an opening animation. Opening the second chest and still winning is actually impossible unless you cheat a little to cancel the opening animation.

I guess I kind of agree with regards to the implementation of such a jumping puzzle for a holiday event. I quite enjoyed it (though I did do it on Norn, and spent most of my time in a solo instance), but I do agree that it wasn't up for a long enough period of time to be truly accessible to the casual player. This is especially true since completion was needed in order to finish the holiday event achievements. So, if it takes you 21 hours to finally finish it, that's 21 hours you can't be spending doing other events like carving pumpkins. For a month long event, it might not be that terrible, but for a short event like this, it's a massive chunk of time.

So I'm adding some more photos to it...but I've been taking TONS of screenshots for different loading screens, vistas, and just otherwise impressive things to me in the game. Currently I'm uploading the October ones as well, but if you want CLICKY HERE and check them out on Facebook.

I've had to replay some Vistas a few times to get a the right shot out of them. It's really hard trying to capture, what I think is a good shot, in an actual scenematic. Sometimes they play out really well, though we all know that the views are just too cool, even for screenshots or videos.

Love the pics. My pc tends to fight with me when doing any of the dragons, so I may not get any good shots of them soon...so seeing yours is really cool.

I came across him earlier today. It's a D3 treasure goblin. The guy's immune to CC and absolutely books it, I think it would take a guy with sprint to catch up and kill him.
