So after seeing the review on Kotaku I bought Symphony, a vertical shooter with the same music gimmick like Audiosurf and Beat Hazard, off of Steam. It's pretty fun, the goal is to defeat the cyber "Demons" that are trying to steal the "soul of your music".Smiley: oyvey You can unlock and upgrade new weapons and items for your ship by selecting different songs. Once you unlock a specific item with a song you cannot unlock a different one, which prevents you from farming one track over and over again.

The game starts on Pianissimo (Very Easy) by default, and slowly teaches you about the various features. Since I remembered I have FRAPS I recorded this video of a standard level. The second video includes a randomized Boss fight.

After reading your post, and Kotaku's review, I bought it.

This is gonna be fun Smiley: grin I loved Audiosurf, and this seems even better!

Edit: This is pretty damn fun! Made it to the third difficulty level - sh*t just got real. The little enemies now seem to kill me the most often! Is there a way to upgrade the level of weapons? Level 1 just doesn't seem to cut it any more...

I bought this on pre-order... and yeah I dig these kind of games (it helps I have a large/unique music library). I was amazed at how fast it analyzes a song for first time play as well.

Lock, I'm not sure if you can upgrade weapons (I havent really tried yet), but you can find upgraded versions of some weapons from, more songs. Also take advantage of your weapon angles when you edit your ship, like keep 'subwoofers' or other slower firing guns facing backward (or at an angle) to get hits on stray enemies that you would initially miss with missiles or that come up from behind you.

ALSO AUTO FIRE!!! Best Feature Ever.

If you filter the songs by weapons you own (right-side checkbox) you can upgrade the ones you have. You will need the amount of Inspiration and Kudos listed on the weapon in order to upgrade it to the next level.

I was lucky enough to find a rare spread-shot weapon on my third song. Smiley: yippee

They performed an update last night that makes it easier to see the enemy bullets. Previously they were a single shade of red, but now they are multicolored.
