Like most of the official battle.net forums, I blame the players.

I blame society for raising the players, the hackers and the Blizzard employees.

I blame you all.
No not really, but I better not have to go through all this again (about 2 months ago). Not that it took more then 2 days the last time, but with millions who may be f'ed, it could take longer...
But I've seen no emails like last time .

I checked my toons on battle.net yesterday, and they're fine. Sucks for the people who got hacked, but I'm good.

I hope not as well...but I'm more concerned that you didn't get an email yet. I got one around the same time that this was first posted, which I almost disregarded as spam (I was so used to it from having just an older unused WoW account), but I do play D3 and when I tried to log on it did make me reset my password.

Can you currently log in? If so you're account may have been safe, I'm not sure how they do their user storage or if that even factors into it. Basically though its never a bad idea to update your password.

(And noone better try taking my D3 account...with its 35g on it...because I just spent all my money so they would then, sell all my gear, and I'd cry)

Pilfering resources to sell on their own is the main avenue. Got 1000 platinum on your WoW account? Not anymore. And they're off selling it for $x per 10/100/whatever. And while you should ideally get it all back, they've usually filtered it through a stream of other accounts to make tracking complicated. Meanwhile, banning the people who do buy doesn't really harm them since they already got their money and are usually using stolen accounts to distribute, anyway.

It's basically free money once exploits are discovered and programs are written to let the peons slave away in their farms. Some wind up animated to the point you have one guy sitting at multiple terminals collecting things.
