My friend talked me into starting this up with him. We're both installing the game now but there's a maint until 4am or something so we'll be venturing tomorrow I guess.

We weren't really planning on aiming for an english community; but if my friend doesn't have a ship in mind already I'll suggest that one.

Also **** this game... it uses gameguard. I almost uninstalled it on the spot after I found out why the game was crashing mpc. I'll bear with it for now.. if the game is fun I'm going to have to install/pirate some sandbox software and run half my **** in a sandbox. And then when I eventually do uninstall the game I'm going to have to manually delete registry values, delete system32 files, and dl and run a rootkit scanner. :/

I don't play pc games often so I don't have much dealings with gamegaurd I just know Sega always used it for their PC version of Phantasy star. What's so terrible about it?

Rootkits have a habit of messing with things they shouldn't mess with, causing glitches outside the game, and being a ***** and a half to get rid of.

Gameguard is basically a trainwreck of a security system. It is for all intents and purposes a rootkit. It hooks into your system and will disallow the use of many Window API's and Active X sh*t. That's why I can't even run MPC while the game is running. But I can run cheat engine without getting caught (fail). If you delete some of the files it will automatically reinstall them without your consent. And deleting the game it came with almost always not uninstall it.

I had to install a sandbox program to use mpc with the game open. I'm hoping I get bored of the game after a few weeks because I don't want to have gameguard on my computer. :(

With that being said; the ship bg is on seems like it's full and I apparently have a friend on ship 10 so I'll most likely be going there.

edit: fuuuu ship 10 is closed

edit2: I am officially on ship 6.
