I just tried to post the following on the GW2 facebook page 3 time and it was promptly deleted:

"Is that effect where you die even after defeating a mob and your health has been restored to 100% going to be part of the game? The feature is going to **** off a lot of players and will cause many, including myself, to quite the game. I want to know before the game goes live so I can seek a refund. I'll not play a game with features with no reason to be in the game other than to aggravate the paying customers. If you die in a fight it's one thing, if you nearly die and recover and win that's another, but when you recover and win and restore your health then die, that's crap."

Clearly GW2 only wants praise on their FB page as this valid complaint about a questionable game feature is repeatedly deleted before anyone has a chance to respond.

If this is any indication of how GW2 operates, I want out.

So get out. Facebook is a promotional medium for businesses and I don't blame them for trying to keep the messages there positive.

Even having never played it, I'm willing to bet that the game beta has a feedback and bug reporting tool besides ******** on Facebook.

I was told by the GW2 support team to post it there. Clearly they are censoring posts and this creates a deceptive view of the game for potential players.

If the support team's honest response to bug reports is "Post it on Facebook", the game has bigger issues anyway. Go play Farmville.

I'm not sure what made you think Facebook was an open medium for communication.

I have a dream.

A dream that one day a new MMO will come out and the forums will be monitored heavily. These forums will not turn into a endless sea of spoiled entitled whiners threatening the developers to change something or they quit.

These forums will not be infested with users who write at a 2nd grade education level. Yet think they know how a multimillion dollar game publisher should design their games.

Trolls will be be ignored and banished to a place where no F's were given that day.

Constructive well though out criticism will be written in a way that does not offend yet conveys potential good ideas for the future of the game and community.

Dev's may even respond to this feedback from time to time, showing glimpses into future updates.

The regulars here at ZAM often post in such a manner. Which gives us some small hope for the future of humanity.

We're discussing proper bug reporting and the function of Facebook as a business communication medium.

Your "report" is a snarky and childish remark ("Will this feature be in the game?") rather than constructive ("Bug: When X happens, Y occurs"). Then when they understandably wipe your little tantrum off their page, you come here to cry about how you're being repressed and censored. But that didn't work so now everyone's a troll. Maybe you can go on Reddit and complain about how mean the people on Zam are for not caring about how mean the people on Facebook are. I'll monitor Fark for your posts about Reddit to see how that works out.

Since you're here and the OP is just whining, how did working on re-raising your honor work out? Did you end up having to restart?

Nah, I just got into a lot of fights and let a lot of nobles go free after beating them. I think it's around 90-100 now but I haven't played for about a week because I got a bug to replay Stalker: SoC. I have a very small kingdom of maybe three holdings and, although people largely leave me alone, it's a bit of a pain to raise my "right to rule". So far the best way has been to get into wars and make them sue for peace which is good for about +15 or +20 points but it's easier said than done -- again, only have three holdings.

Did you ever woo and run off with a noble's daughter? I think that does some serious boost for your RtR.

Ah, that's right. I remember you mentioning that.

Hrm...I wonder if instead of worrying about honor, you can just capture every single enemy noble and put them in a prison tower until there's nothing standing between you and your conquest.

What issue are you even whining about?

I've played in both beta weekends and the stress test event and never "die[d] even after defeating a mob and your health has been restored to 100%".

Sounds like a bug, and you weren't paying attention enough to notice it was a bug.

Or, it sounds like you weren't paying attention and something else killed you. It's not uncommon for attacks from certain mobs, especially veteran/champion, to one shot you.

There is no specific feature in Guild Wars 2 that just kills you randomly.

Help, help, I'm bein' repressed! Come and see the violence inherent in the system!

There is plenty of negative input allowed. Go have a look at the mesmer forum and you'll see what I mean. That's over at same forums where you should have gone in the first place, by the way. There are proper places for bug reports. Facebook is not one of them. Yeah, I get that you say you were sent to FB by support, but I suspect you, er, misunderstood. You seem like you might be a chronic misunderstander.

Edit:

My favorite bit of Facebook censorship is when a politician says something stupid, everyone floods his FB page, and some poor intern has to scrub all the mud off the page... but usually not before the original posters get a couple pages of screenshots of the shrieking and angry comments as proof that the censorship is occurring.

Way more fun than ******** via an email and getting a form email back.

Not quite as fun as ******** on the phone, where the intern has no choice but to listen to you as long as you don't give them a valid reason to hang up.
