Related to this topic... my editor is having me use his account to play through this a bit. My experience so far?

- Double charged to subscribe. I subscribed last week, got into the game, went to play yesterday and was told "Your account is expired, hit Renew to re-activate it. We won't charge you until the new month begins." Yeah, no, they charged me again. Still waiting on them to correct that.
- Went to the prologue area - screen wouldn't load. Couldn't use the Window key to get out, nor bring up the Task Manager to close it. Had to hard reset my computer.
-Attempting to log in after that went: disconnect ("connectivity issue"), disconnect ("ticket submission error"), disconnect ("connectivity issue").

Yeah, this will be a fun article Smiley: bah

Ouch! I haven't had any of those problems. But yeah EM is a pretty small company and things are not perfect that's for sure. This game is more a niche market thing, definitely not a mass market WoW appeal. But it gives me some nostalgia vibes for FFXI without most of the terrible stuff and some good action gaming.

You really won't get a true feel for your class at 23 since some of the class defining skills come around 28-30 and that's when difficulty picks up. But with the trial you could do the first instance. (It's easy, later they are not) And even solo some BAMs to see what it takes. PM me if you want to holler at me in game. I'm on Serpentis Isle server.

The game is fun enough, but I'm getting a bit tired of the standard MMO formula for leveling. Combat is excellent, but the quests are pretty generic kill x number of mobs/fetch x number of items. None of them really stand out. That's one thing about FFXI that I miss. Most quests, while not always the best story, and least had a story, and they generally varied in what you had to do. I'd love to the fighting mechanics in Tera mixed with the quest storylines of FFXI.

I agree with all of that. However I will say as you get higher levels the main story quests (the red quests, not yellow in your log) get pretty epic. They have cut scenes and voice overs and remind me some of the FFXI ones.
