As if we hadn't had enough discussion about ME3 already. Anywho, if you've been living under a rock, this is being released in a matter of hours. Let's put all the discussion here instead of bumping the demo thread over and over.

For those of you who can't wait, Emily Wong is currently tweeting the Fall of Earth, giving us a play by play from her vantage point in South California. It's framed as the normal communications systems going down right before the Reapers attack, limiting them to text-only communication.

You can find it here.

Mass Effect in a few hours. Let the fangasming begin.

Ugh. Still have to wait till thursday until I can pick ME3 up and then have to suffer through work until I get home to play it! Curse you, responsibilities and slightly belated EU release dates. Curse you, I say.

I'm picking mine up tonight. Will install it and make sure I have my DLC codes right. But I'm not going to be able to really play until after my midterm on Thursday. D:

But holy hell I'm excited. I still have a bunch of ME2 left to clear. Have all my companions but Legion, and have done 3 of the loyalty quests, plus Arrival and Shadow Broker. I just cleared the Collector Ship part, so I still have the Reaper IFF, Joker's section, and Suicide mission segments of the main quest.

I NEED MORE TIME!

So what is everyone going to play first? I'll be a Paragon FemShep Sentinel that stayed loyal to Kaidan on my first run. I really need to get around to trying out Adept. I love biotics after they were revamped in the second game, but have trouble letting go of Tech Armor.

I'm Pre-Loaded waiting on midnight EST so I can unlock. Have tomorrow off so guess what I'll be sitting in front of all day Smiley: lol Gonna play as my male Soldier which was my first ever play through of ME1. Probably my best save also with everyone surviving the end of 2.

And I actually want to play to save her, after punching her in the face the first time we met. Smiley: blush

I find it a little irritating that, once you recruit every character (meaning both DLC ones as well), it's no longer possible to get the worst ending. Just seems unfair to me. People who want everyone to die should get that chance!

Except if you kill everyone including Shepard, you can't inport your save from what I read, but can't remember where I read that now to verify Smiley: glare

Yeah, the death is final. I guess we are supposed to assume that, if Shepard dies, the whole galaxy goes with her. :P

Still though, that ending is super emotional. Just seems wrong that simply recruiting everyone keeps you from getting it (as that wasn't the case for most players, considering it took 4 months for Kasumi to be released).

I usually save everyone I can as a rule in all the games I play, as I don't like missing out on the additional story later.

In other news, earlier today I watched a cutscene on youtube of recruiting Garrus if you didn't have him in ME1 (as I forget that's possible). It's weird. Shepard's all "Wait, aren't you Garrus Vakarian" then in her weird happy voice "Good to see you!"

And you're like Smiley: glare.

I never even thought about ME2 without having recruited Tali, Wrex or Garrus, actually. Just seems like you would be missing out on so much. A huge part of their characters is their past relationship with Shepard.

I don't think so? At least I'm not catching one. If you are referring to the game title, that's the one I meant. All three characters (except maybe Wrex?) will be in ME2 if you never recruited them, but it just seems weird for them to be practically strangers rather than trusted friends. I mean, every time you talk about Tali with Quarians, they bring up her work with you fighting Saren.

From what I heard, the ending is almost exactly the same as Deus Ex's. Whether it's the original Deus Ex or Human Revolution's ending, I don't know.

I'll be picking mine up in about an hour. If I surface tomorrow, I might let you guys know how I like it. I only have 1 character that I can import so far, a male Soldier.

I'm going to play my male Shep paragon Vanguard who loves Ash first. Charging and shotgunning around a room full of baddies is win.

Guh. I derped. I was kind of assuming ME3 would be on Steam. Went to go ahead and purchase it, and realized it wasn't, and likely won't be for a while. Despite the fact that ME1 and 2 are.

I'd have to install Origin to play it.

Welp, looks like I'm pirating going to have to install Origin. I'd rather pirate than deal with EA, but desperate times.

Also, people in line were saying that your Shepard will be the level you ended ME2 at, with all your guns and powers, and the new level cap is 60. I don't know if I like this, to tell the truth.

And can I just say I'm shocked how sad Emily Wong's apparent death makes me... She never got her exclusive interview with me. :(

I'm just sticking with "not dead until I see the body" on this one. Shut up, I want that to be true.

Also, damn you Bioware and getting me attached to a character I rarely saw while simultaneously providing awesome marketing through twitter.
