Shojindo, I'm guessing you aren't too far. In that case, you can still get a save file to use. Click Mass Effect 2 in the top-left corner, then 3 Fem shop options on the right, 3 on the left for Male Shep (Paragon, Renegade, Mixed). After that you choose your LI in the center, and it'll show the relevant saves' choices in detail.

IMO, it's worth doing, since one of the things I'm most excited about is seeing what happens according my choices. And default Shepard is an @#%^.

And, if you don't want to use someone else's Shepard, you can recreate your own using this.

So I found a save with most everything correct to my First Paragon Vanguard play through on the first site. Then I oppened it in the Gib Editor to confirm the settings and make a couple of minor changes. Recreated the ME2 save folder and dropped it in. The save had default male Shep face, but when I imported the save it allowed me to change it in ME3 to the same guy I had. So no need to mess with the phase morphing out of game.

Pretty slick really. I'll let you know if I run into any issues during play.

Cool, glad to help. :)

I generally use default Shep, because the voice just goes with those faces in my mind.

I like default fem Shep. Default male Shep looks like a **** to me, so I use him for my renegade plays. Smiley: lol

And if this computer gets pwned I'll just wipe it. It's almost due for a fresh clean-up OS anyway, plus I need a bigger SSD I got a 64GBV SSD for the OS and sometimes games that really need fast load times and a 1TB HDD for everything else. But as the price points are coming down I'm starting to think I just want more SSDs.

*Edit: Oh and I forgot to add with this save I am level 30 at start. With default I was level 1... Yeah lots easier to get though those first area's with a decent vanguard power set rather than. Look Mommy I just learned how to charge!

Ya, Joker's acting skeevy.

Enjoyed the sparring match between Vega & femshep, but find it odd to have Freddie Prinze Jr hitting on my femshep & calling her Lola. Especially when my femShep already has a thing going on with Garrus. Really enjoyed the stuff with Wrex, "Mordun", & "Eve" & since I took Liara with I got a bunch of extra dialog. Running into Jack at the Academy was cool, while meeting up with Thane was sad. Grunt is still a bad ***.

So far, a bit disappointed with the number of squad mates. Other than that, the gameplay has been improved quite a bit. The limited amount of slots for mods on your weapons makes the RPG aspects of combat surprisingly complex, which I also like (WHICH TWO DO I CHOOSE?!?!). I still find the "glamorization" of the female characters a bit odd between ME2 & ME3 though. Sure, I get that the graphics got better. But does that mean Ashley & Liara really needed makeovers and boob jobs too?

Not quite so bad on Liara, but Ashley is painted like a *****.

There's only one rule on the Citadel, apparently. Still not sure whether I really want to hand a unified mercenary army over to Aria, though.

I'm loving the big little details, such as saving the Council in ME1 having a negative effect on Alliance military fleet strength.

I wonder if giving the Illusive Man the Reaper ship at the End of ME2 effects Cerberus' strength at all...

I'll never know. I told him to go ***** & blew it the @#%^ up. I don't want no stinking indoctrinated Cerberus troops with Reaper tech gunning for me.

Oh, wait....

Still can't figure out why Anderson isn't my Ambassador to the Council anymore even though I made him such. One line of dialog with Udina kind of made it seem like Anderson might have given the seat on the Council too him, but IDK. Guess I'll chock it up to the "6 months" in between games?

Ok, something that's been bugging me about Mordin.

The following are spoilers for the mission to get the Krogans to agree to work with the Turians, i.e., fairly early on. Also, minor spoils for (ME2) Mordin's Loyalty mission:

In Mass Effect 2, in Mordin's loyalty mission, he says that he works on the genophage update because he believed the genophage was necessary. He knew he was keeping the population low because he thought it would help more people than an increased Krogan population would. So in keeping with that, I had him delete the data about the genophage cure.

Well, then in 3, it turns out Mordin was the one that tipped Clan Urdnot off about the living, fertile, genophage-immune females? And then he goes ahead after the mission and begins to work on a genophage cure? What the hell?

I understand that he can rationalize that the Krogans are necessary in this war - which I agree with. And the only way Wrex was agreeing to help was if he got a genophage cure. But that doesn't clear up the fact that Mordin tipped off Clan Urdnot about the genophage-immune females before the Reaper invasion started happening, as far as I can tell. He was also working with STG (the group studying the females), specifically, the genophage immunity. If you let him keep the data in 2, he even remarks a cure would be "simple". It just seems to really go back on what happened in his loyalty mission, how he seemed to accept that what he was doing was a necessary evil to keep the Krogans from overrunning the galaxy.

Also, his new voice makes me sad.

I was wondering that too, so I checked out the Codex entry on him. Anderson abdicated his Council seat to Udina because he eventually got tired of living a life of politics. I assume he pretty much spent that time preparing for the inevitable Reaper invasion.

Also, the whole Crucible thing?

I'm predicting it's a Death Star. Calling it now.

Seeing that shot of the Admiral Hackket standing in front of a window watching its construction just made me lol.

Just noticed. The main menu right after the title screen plays a subtle recall of the song Vigil from ME1. Always been my favorite track.

I knew saving the Rachni queen was a good idea from the start.

Also, right now gonna go find rule 34 of EDI on /m/.

In ME2, it wasn't the cure Mordin was opposed to, but the methods the guy used to get his results that seems to **** him off.

And his new voice is weird.

I killed her, but let the new "Rachni" live.

The Thrasher Maw taking out the Reaper was worth the price of admission.

RIP Mordin & Thane, sniff.

So... I just downloaded Mass Effect (the original) last night and started playing. Have a Vanguard right now. Anyone have some tips or tricks to help a newbie? Much like Dragon Age, even on normal level I'm taking a lot of damage early on because I don't have the mechanics down quite yet. I don't want to lower it to casual just yet, so some advice would be nice Smiley: grin

So Vanguards are kinda hard to play, but generally fun. You are a front range fighter, using Biotics (which are best suited for crowd control). You are going to want to get in the habit of using certain combos. Like Throwing a target, then filling their face with lead once they are on the ground. You should also try to get in the habit of lifting anyone you can while running in. You're basically juggling high damage, solid crowd control, and okay defenses.

Once you unlock Barrier, things will get easier (giving you much better defenses).

You're going to want a dedicated Tech user on your squad. Garrus, Tali, or Kaidan are your options there. Tali is pure Tech, Garrus is Tech and Weapons, Kaidan is Tech and Biotics. Because you'll be on the front lines, additional Biotics aren't as harsh for you as for other people, so any of those are an option. For your other member, play it based on needs. A second tech user will give you a better ability to take down shields, which is nice.

3:45 and I finally finished my complete ME2 save... I think. Holy hell Arrival is difficult. The whole game I've relied on synergy with my sentinel. Finding myself solo was harsh, and those enemies hurt. Though it did really show off how badass Shepard is.

I can finally start ME3 in the morning. :D

I like how the sedatives randomly stop working on him for no real explained reason.

And it's a good thing you played the DLC. You'd be kind of lost upon starting Mass Effect 3 otherwise.

Yeah, I just assumed that whatever cybernetics they used to revive her liver kicked into overdrive once the dosage hit a certain point.

I also like how every person ignores Shepard's warnings, even when they believe the Reapers are coming. Oh, proof the Reapers are coming? Let's place this huge, working artifact next to everyone out in the open. No way what she said about indoctrination was true.

Which is why when you find out (ME3 very minor spoiler) Cerberus is using Reaper tech it is very, very troubling.

Non spoiler, but an already odd relationship that was going on in the Bar on the Citadel got more awkward when a scantily clad woman walked into the CS and stared at me throughout the whole thing. Her beady eyesbore into me throughout while her face & neck flailed around awkwardly.

It was quite uncomfortable, actually. I don't think I can encourage the relationship any longer.
