I'm feeling the pain of being too broke to buy it til Friday, despite their further discussion on the prothean companion giving me the ability to talk myself into doing so once again.

I'm off Sunday until Wednesday night, so if all goes according to plan I'll finish ME2 by Tuesday AM, my CE edition is due sometime on Tuesday day (Paying for overnight via amazon guarantees it by Tuesday or shipping is free), and some ME3ing by Tuesday PM.

I'll have to reinstall the new Physx driver for nVidia of course, since I have to roll it back to play ME2 still >.<

I dragged my feet too long waiting to pre-order and couldn't get the collectors edition anymore Smiley: cry so I used Origin Smiley: glare and got the Digital Deluxe Edition. On the plus side... I pre-loaded last night, the down side, I now have a Mass Effect 3 icon on my desktop that won't work yet Smiley: cry

I absolutely refused to pay for the Digital Deluxe version. The CE comes with a collectible, double-sided tin case (featuring maleshep on one side and femshep on the other), as well as a fabric N7 patch, an art book, and the soundtrack.

The Digital Deluxe version is the same cost, but no patch, no collectible case, and a DIGITAL art book/soundtrack. No, f*ck that. No way. It should have been at least $5 cheaper. The CE is worth the extra 20, assuming you want the stuff in it. The DDE can DIAF.

Just to buy the soundtrack, I'll be paying at least $7 more. If I find the implementation of From Dust to be palatable, that's $10. Technically a deal? Perhaps. But it's crap to make the two products the same cost when the worth of one is far less. I WOULD have liked the stuff it came with, but I refuse to support that practice.

Also, whoever decided to implement BioWare points actually deserves to have their teeth pulled out one by one. It's such bullsh*t.

Meh I paid 10 for the sound track, which I would of converted to digital copy anyway if I liked it (Who uses CD's anymore?) The other 10 paid for the Day 1 DLC which I would of broken down and gotten sooner or later anyway as much as it does **** me off they have day 1 DLC. (And I know its playable, it pre-loaded last night too!)

The point is that one comes with a bunch of collectibles, the other doesn't, but they are the same cost. That's what I have an issue with.

And no, seriously, F*ck bioware points.

I just made a huge discovery. On the DA2 site, they let you buy 560 points for $7, the exact number needed for the "real" dlc packs for ME2.

ME2's site starts at 800, heavily encouraging waste. Which is just ripping off customers.

Vendor points are basically the same thing as fair tickets or company store scrip coins. Scamorama.

They really are. I got spoiled playing everything on my PS3, since their store uses direct transactions.

What infuriates me is how incredibly scam-worthy the ME portion is. Using points is dirty in the first place, but the ME site doesn't offer a price point conducive to their DLC. It's 10, 15, or 20 dollar increments. Most DLC is 7 or cheap (2-ish), so you get screwed.

The cheap stuff is never worth buying, unless you intend to buy 4-5, but at least the DA2 site offers a $7 price point.
