I would have guessed the opposite, you wanting "cash" and them wanting to give blue coins. After all, blue coins means they still get your ten bucks.

A friend told me it has girlfriend mode though. I am hoping that makes it easy enough to enjoy. If not, oh well. I downloaded the demo of blood dragon and I loved the music etc, but as soon as people started shooting at me in earnest I panicked and died. Then I had a sad.
As far as I know (from what I remember), 'Girlfriend Mode' is the Mechromancer character (which you'd have to pay extra for). You can pretty much spec her out so her brobot does most of the work for you. That said, Siren and Soldier are probably the two easiest base classes to play. Anyway, the initial playthrough of the story shouldn't be too bad. The difficulty ramps up a bit the second run.

Yeah, they lied. Thankfully, I wanted to play the Mech class anyway and rolled my char as one not even knowing it was the "girlfriend mode" character. So when can I actually get some skills? I'm level 4 and I still have no skill points.

Level 5.

What's this and how do I abuse it? I just want to play the game as faceroll as possible. I figure if I -have fun- playing a FPS style game, I might actually accidentally get a little better at it. I've already stopped just letting those monsters throw rocks at me without dodging out of the way - I figure that's an improvement... ha ha ha

Main menu under the "Shift Code" submenu. Sign up for Shift, then enter in the codes on the code entering screen.

I did for a minute, but then I realized it never goes away, just the code appears above it for some reason. For people that have been doing the web thing for so long, that's really bad design.

I did (and even after reading gaxes post), it took about 5 entries for me to see a code.

Looks like a game I will try the next time the internet is out. I do love rpg's.

Yeah, took me like 5 times to get a code, it worked in steam fine. First time I opened the site had the unavailable page was there, had to refresh it to get the page to load.

Some funky coding going on there.

Now I need to keep an eye out for Episode one and 2 to go on sale :s So i can play the trilogy

Gamersgate has a few deals.
Monday: Giana Sisters 66% off 5.10 (No Uk BC discounts)

Neverwinter Nights packs are the weekly sales:
Neverwinter 2 5.99
Neverwinter Complete 10.99
Neverwinter Nights Diamond 2.99

Dungeonland 50% off 5.00, 14.99 for a 4 pack

Im interested in Dungeonland, would anyone want to go 4 way in. We could ask Joph for his super secret 20% off sauce, each get a copy for 3 dollars even.

PS; They FINALLY got back to me, hopefully my crap with them gets settled soon. I tried not to be to rude, and I mentioned it would be nice for them to compensate me for waiting 11 days to take care of my order.

Haha, someone else who reflexively checks the GG UK site these days.

And I have no issue using my 20% if anyone wants in on a 4-pack or whatever.

Far as I know, it's the full version. I got a key from one of those "pm me" bots. Played through the first tutorial I think. Haven't gone any further.

Its the full game. All characters are unlocked the whole nine yards.Honestly by now it should be in Open beta and it practically is but they still spam Beta Keys to people with Dota2 already .

Also how do i give it to bots ?

(Edit: Yes Im to lazy to google it myself because you teased it, so you should deliver!)

Make sure you're not using a firewall. You can't give it to them if you are using protection.

This was the first hit.

Basically, just friend request the bot, trade request the bot, put the keys in it and press accept. It unfriends you in the end. Dota 2 Dispenser is it's name. I can't remember exactly which one I hit up to get mine.

I'm curious how many people have keys total and how many actually paid for them. Seems like there are a LOT of free keys floating out there.

By the way I want to try Anno 2070 so if anyone sees it on sale anywhere poke me with a stick.

Also I have waaaay to many DOTA 2 keys now as well.

Also now that I can sort of aim a gun in a video game (been playing borderlands all day yesterday and today) I am thinking I might want to use that copy of Mass Effect 2 I have kicking around. But that would mean origin. I am so torn. I did so good not signing up for it. Do I need to play 1 to enjoy 2?

I did not play ME1 and I thoroughly enjoyed ME2. But, I don't know what I missed, so keep that in mind. At the time I purchased ME2 I asked the same question and was told, I think it was by Digg, that it was not necessary to play 1 before 2.

The games are decently designed to allow you to start the series at any point.

I'm trying to figure out how to say this and be as spoiler-free as possible, but:

The first game has you hunting down a rogue agent. This mission exposes you to the big bad of the series, but has a strong focus on your mission.

The second game has you investigating why human colonies keep disappearing. In that process, you learn more about the big bad, and their threat is tangibly increased. But you still have the more pressing mission of disappearing colonies.

The third game is when the big bad is finally an imminent threat, and Shepard has to deal with that.

Mass Effect 2 and 3 have combat systems that are very similar, but a fair bit different from ME1 (at least in experience of them). Mass Effect 2's main cast is largely independent from ME1, and the only returning crew members are ones that were actually optional in ME1, so it's not an issue that you don't really know them. If you don't transfer an earlier save, THEY won't be close to your Shepard (more like: "Oh hey, yeah, we met when you were tracking down that guy" than "BEST FRIEND!")

So it's not really a jarring transition.

As for 2 to 3, you can absolutely start with 3. But it's kind of like starting with Return of the King. I mean, yeah, you'll get what's going on. And they'll give you enough info you'll get it well enough. But you won't really understand. They actually added one companion in ME3 specifically to help new players get into the game, because he's new to the squad. So the party banter is primarily about giving him a history lesson in the form of them telling him war stories. And he'll ask for information in conversations that he wouldn't have known.

So yeah. Like any series, the latter entries are better if you played the earlier ones. But they do a very good job of making them accessible, in my opinion. The worst part is that you don't get the effect of the cameos and returning characters.

I should also note that the game defaults to primarily Renegade ("bad") for discussing any past events. So if you want to play Paragon ("good"), you'll still have to deal with the ramifications of some significant past Renegade choices.
