It's the best of the AC games I've played so far, haven't tried AC 3 yet.

Yup. This expansion is actually good.

I've been dividing my time between Saint's Row 3 (my character is a female Kim Jong Il), Dark Souls, and WoW recently. Haven't had much time for Dota 2, which I miss.

Any Aussies in the house?

Games.On.Net wrote:
Since being pressured by 2K Games into raising the price on Borderlands 2 and XCOM: Enemy Unknown for ANZ customers, Green Man Gaming haven’t been sitting quietly on their hands. Their solution: a voucher that gives 30% off on all titles where publishers have forced them to gouge Australians unfairly.

“We have thought long and hard about the ANZ market that has been so good to GMG in the past and what our approach should be,” said Green Man to us last night. “We value our loyal customers in Australia and New Zealand and, as such, GMG are taking the hit so that we can offer the value you have come to expect from us.”

That’s right: with the code GMGAU-3J9MF-MUINW, you can get 30% off the price of Borderlands 2, now down to $50 (and its DLC Season Pass, now $28), Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage (down to $11), Captain Scarlett and her Pirate’s Booty (down to $11), Spec Ops: The Line (down to $21), Civilization V: Gods & Kings (down to $36), XCOM: Enemy Unknown (down to $50), and NBA 2K13 (down to $36).

This code is valid for the next 10 years — although GMG warn us this may be subject to change, but that’s the plan at least. Remember, this 30% off voucher is only valid on price-gouged titles such as the ones above.

Already bought it, but I don't like the controls compared to the PS2/360. I'll either get used to it, or wasted 8 and some change.

TBH a gamepad works better with a lot of games, my wired 360 controller was one of my better investments.

Amazon's deal of the week is another THQ pack. A larger one this time.

[link=http://www.amazon.com/THQ-Mega-Pack-Download/dp/*************** Mega Pack[/link]
$24.99 - 50% off. I'm assuming the 5 dollar editors choice discount works for it as well.

Company of Heroes GOTY
Company of Heroes - Tales of Valor
Darksiders
Darksiders II
Homefront
MX vs ATV Reflex
Metro 2033
Nexuiz
Red Faction Armageddon
Red Faction Guerrilla
Saints Row 2
Saints Row: The Third
Supreme Commander
Supreme Commander Forged Alliance
Titan Quest Gold
Warhammer 40k, Dawn of War Gold
Warhammer 40k, Dawn of War II
Warhammer 40k, Dawn of War II - Retribution
Warhammer 40k, Space Marine

I've got the majority of these games from other bundles, I didn't buy last weeks THQ bundle because while a great deal I don't play FPS games that often. I'm hoping Amazon throws out a couple good deals on their editors choice list before the end of the month. I still have 2 or 3 promos to use up. (Started with 6 or 7...)

Edit:
Are they giving away all these THQ games in an effort to drum up a fan base for them, or is the whole THQ selling off thing just making it easier for places like Amazon to negotiate sales deals?

I think it's the second one. Because of their position, THQ is just very receptive to the idea of having sales.

Amazon will have Far Cry 3 for $35 (?) on their EC lost on the 22nd for a one day sale. I think it's $35; I'm pretty sure the intended "sale" price will be $30 after coupon. Also working on some pretty sweet bundle of Microsoft games (Deadlight, Mark of the Ninja, Toy Soldiers, Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet, etc) and a Fable bundle, but haven't made a final decision with MS about them yet.

With the holiday sales season ended, I figured I'd just ask and see what goodies people are now invested in.

I'm playing through Borderlands, having never played it. I picked up BL2 but enough people said it was worth doing BL1 first for the carry-over characters that I figured I'd start from the beginning.

I can understand some people's criticisms of the game as it really is the same thing over and over but I'm enjoying the mindless bandit killing and loot whoring. Playing a hunter and just hit level 30 (and defeated the Rakk hive) last night.

Mechwarrior online is still fun, picked up dalkstalkers I+II but haven't finished it. FTL was a good buy (if you like roguelikes, look into it, if not steer clear) Torchlight 2 was good for that type of game, but lacks replayability, and it was incredibly easy, Empire total war did fun things with the campaign, but those loadtimes and performance inefficiencies ticked me off. Shogun's units felt more distinct, even though Empire had more types of units, Sword of the stars is clunky for a space sim, I wish it was more coherent. had some good luck with various JP games that you don't care about, Airmech is casual, but fun, and League of Legends is a usual stable.

Speaking of, I completed the BL1 plot line with 30 hours played. Started Dr. Ned but it's boring me. Stand and mow down swarm of zombies with automatic weapon, move forward, new swarm, mow them down, rise and repeat. At least guys shooting at you added some variety to what was going on.

Moxxi's Underdome is pretty much the same thing, but you can store extra weapons and items at the bank there. You'll like "The Secret Armory of General Knoxx" and "Claptrap's Robot Revolution" better than the other two.

This is pretty much the same bundle that Steam sold during the holiday sale, and it's a really, really good value. Darksiders II and Saint's Row 3 alone make it worth it. Those are the only two I've played so far, and I'm enjoying them both immensely. This is a definite recommendation.

This makes me regret doing the Humble THQ Bundle etc. and shows that Steam really needs a system where you can redeem a key as a gift (if you already have the game OR just as an option) I would buy this right away. But as it sits I dont want to try and figure out what I have keys for an not and accidentally use keys for stuff I already have etc.

I played a little SR3 and its decent so far no complaints at all. Darksiders 1/2 I havent gotten to yet as this thread is my worst nightmare for backlogs (and Planetside 2), and the next few weeks are tied up with Ni no Kuni (going to pick it up tonight Thought it was already out but it's out Tues.) and DmC on the 25th, luckily thought DmC is Actiony/adventure and I can usually burn through those in a few hours then come back later when I get the itch.

Just Mordecai. Sniper and Pistols skills mainly, didn't mess much with the Bloodwing skills.

I tend to stay away from pet classes in most games. I know it's not like most pet classes, where you have to micromanage your pet, but I stayed away from Mordecai, and even Roland, because of it. Same thing in BL2; I tried Gaige, but ultimately it just wasn't for me. I really like the Sirens in both games. A couple elemental SMGs, plus an assault rifle and sniper rifle for good measure, and I'm good to go.

You should have at least spec'd Bloodwing's retrieval skill, he'll pick up health and ammo for you if you're pinned down.

I saw Dungeon Siege III up on Amazon's editors choice list, and a Dungeon Siege bundle (1, 2, 3, dlc) but they were for full price, and now they are gone. I'm thinking they'll pop up later this week on sale.

Amazon rep already said that was an error. They're set to go on sale in February but won't be part of the Editor's Choice list.
