I REALLY wish they had gone F2P with Storm Legion. They probably could have made the game super successful if they rode that hype. Everyone was rating the expansion extremely well. If it had come in as a Free to Play launch (rather than a $30 price tag on a sub game), I imagine they would have gained quite a few new players.

Also noteworthy is the fact that there's already a ton of cosmetic and "casual" systems, like house-building, in place that would be perfect for a micro-transaction system.

Well, I hope it does well nonetheless. It's probably going to be one of the most polished F2P games out there. I hope it doesn't fall prey to TOR-style over-monetization.

I played Rift for a while when it first came out, and was pretty impressed with Trion. They did a nice job with the game in terms of keeping me interested, which is always difficult when a game first launches. I found myself running for the events whenever I saw one pop up, and spent many a session doing nothing much else. Lots of fun the way you were auto-joined to a group just by running over to an event (assuming there were others there, which there always were in the lower level zones).

I even found myself actively looking to engage in open world PvP, which I have never really done in any other game (I was not on a PvP shard, and don't even remember if they had them). I also remember one night finding myself in a group at an event when along came another group and a couple of them started up, and I had a great time (I cannot recall the classes but I was playing a character that was able to heal pretty well and do some decent dps) in that fight, wound up running around the zone with the group I was in looking for other fights, and even chased someone down across nearly the entire zone who jumped me and then ran when he couldn't kill me right away.

And then something happened and I lost interest in the game.

I checked your ticket's status in the queue, and while there's a small chance that it can be addressed by the senior staff on Friday (if the tickets in front of it can be solved quickly), it's unfortunately more likely that it'll take until Monday.

Sorry for the long delay. We are aware that this is bad, and we are working hard to shorten the waiting time, but we had a huge increase in traffic during the popular sales from the past few weeks.

Rift is going F2P you may have read, with some pretty nice rewards for being a previous member while it was paid. Thanks to Raptr you can get around that little detail. If you hadn't played it before you can still qualify since the game is a free trial up to level 15 or 20 (I don't recall), then just get in the # of hours you need to claim the reward on Raptr, which I plan on doing. So don't steal mine.

Speaking of GamersGate Mass Effect 1 its kind of a hassle to add it to Origin, you have to talk to a CSR(live chat) and they had me log into my Pogo account (had for years) then add that pogo account to my EA profiles (Which is nifty it had all my accounts I ever used at EA in one place, even ones I forgot i had, like my Battlefield Heros I played for a few weeks.) Then they will add the game to your origin account.

All i did was goto live chat say I had a game I thought was an Origin game but it wont add to my account, I bought it at a third party site (GamersGate). They will ask for the code then walk you through the steps til they can add it. Takes about 5 mins overall.

Edit:I first made an Ea account in July 18, 2009 I think that was for Madden 08 i borrowed from a friend to try out XD

I bought the three month package a couple of times, so I should have enough time in to get the shinies for the paying customers. It's too bad that I really don't care enough about Rift anymore to actually play it though. They built a pretty decent game world, with decent, if somewhat cliched lore, and you can customize your characters abilities more than most MMOs will allow. But the whole **** thing is way too grindy. After I realized how much much time it would take to just get the crafting recipes I wanted, I just gave up on the whole thing.

OOH... I tried logging in to just the character select and afking so I already learned that, but yet I didn't think to just leave it running. Thanks!

Lots of things at Amazon, here's what i saw that stood out.

-Ultimate Dreamcast Pack 8.49
1. Dreamcast Collection (Sonic Adventure 1, Crazy taxi, Space Channel 5 part 2, Real bass Fishing)
2. Jet Set Radio
3. Nights in Dreams
4. Sonic Adventure 2
5. Sonic Generations

I'm putting this up here because I think 8.49 for Sonic Generations is one of the cheapest I've seen it

Dark Souls: Prepare to Die 7.49

Again I think thats pretty low.

Sega Fun Pack 9.99

1. **** Yeah
2. **** Yeah! Pimp my Rabbit
3. **** Yeah! Virtual Rabbit Missions
4. Jet Set Radio
5. Nights in Dreams
6. Renegade Ops Coldstrike Campaign
7. Renegade Ops Reinforcement Pack
8. Renegade Ops
9. The Cave

I havent seen many deals for **** Yeah! or The Cave. Seems like a decent pack. I would like to get it but so much overlap between this and the first pack I listed. I already have a few of the games, but stuff Like The Cave, Nights Into Dreams, **** Yeah, and Sonic Generations would be nice.

Batman Arkham GOTY Pack 11.49
1. Batman: Arkham Asylum GOTY
2. Batman Arkham City GOTY

Again I think this is the cheapest ive seen

I may be wrong on some of these. THere is a few other things that caught my eye but nothing I havent really seen before. They are running a Rockstar promo, buy 1 Rockstar game get 5 dollars off another Rockstar game. You could buy 2 5 dollar games for the price of 1.

Link to the rest of the Amazon Digital Sale stuff

Clear Sky is widely considered the weakest of the Stalker titles. But the other two weren't published by Deep Silver.

Today's GG EA special is Sims stuff. Go look at it yourself, it's a bunch of Sim 3 expansions and I don't play or care about Sims 3 to know what's good/cheap.

Hmm Interesting, I beat Person 3 Portable but was stuck in Person 3 FES. The anime scenes are better in FES, the gameplay is better in Portable. Only because you can control your other teamates in portable, in FES they are AI controlled. I would buy FES again if I didnt just sell my PS3( I didnt sell my games or account, they only wanted the PS3 + controllers for 150)

If you're interested in buying the new game Reus (looks like a Black and White type game to me) you can get it for about 28% off if you buy it from GMG and use the code GMG20-GGN5D-FC3NA. It's base 10% off on both Steam and GMG, but you get the 20% off of the 90% cost on top of the 10% if you get from GMG.

GMG also has Deponia for 50% off, but I'm still waiting on a bundle deal of 75% with the second one that I'm sure will happen later this year.

Factory Reset after deactivating the PS3, and formatted the HDD. I'm not giving anything up for free :P

O.o I got it as a pre-order for like 24.99 or something stupid cheap.

Deponia was part of an indie bundle not to long ago, you could probably find it via steam trade or on CAG if you looked hard enough for cheaper.

KOA Day on GG. I mention because usually there's someone who seems half interested. Pices assume use of elder-geek.com code for 5% off. All items activate on Origin.

Kingdoms of Amalur Collection (inc Dead Kel & Naros DLC) - $7.12
Kingdoms of Amalur (Base) - $5.69
Teeth of Naros DLC - $4.73
Legend of Dead Kel DLC - $4.73

Really, the collection is the real deal hence the only one I bothered linking. Separate DLC are only 50% off and you'd be better off buying the whole collection again than buying missing DLC. I haven't played Dead Kel but I've heard a lot of people say it's very well done, better than the base game and some of the best content DLC they've seen.

I don't know what the original point was but BL2's SP includes four DLCs.

They're not the first to do this. Saints Row the Third's SP included the three content DLCs and the Nightwing (Bloodwing? Bloodnight? Wingwing?) costumes. I was fine with that since I didn't care much about the costume DLCs. Provided they're up front with what's in it, I'm cool.

The BL2 campaign is a fairly complete experience. I have no issue with a "season pass" that is good for 4 DLC, at a discount from buying them individually. Their DLC is usually fairly decent, too. I'm sure at some point they'll put out a GOTY edition which includes the season pass DLC but you'll probably be waiting a fair amount of time for that.

My ten second review of Last Light: If you enjoyed 2033, you'll enjoy LL. If you wanted to enjoy 2033 but had technical issues, Last Light is much better optimized. If you disliked 2033 because you hate corridor shooters or Russian accents, you ain't going to like Last Light either.

It's essentially more of 2033, just done a bit better. Of course you probably could have guessed that for yourself.
