Holy sh*t balls, that is good news.
No kidding! The beach is exactly what Joph needs!

I'm trying hard not to admit it to myself. I mean it has cool stuff I like right? Pseudo hacking, bio cyber tech, a Clint Eastwood voiced (sounding) guy. I used to patiently sneak around and ninja kill stuff in Tenchu back in the day. It's just a hard transition after Saints Row 3 which was just a very fun high octane ride.

That humble bundle is a cool idea. I think I will buy it just for They Might Be Giants who I still love from my youth.

I haven't enjoyed a stealth game since the first Splinter Cell. Yes, this includes all of the assassin's creeds, and batman AA.

I liked MGS on ps1, but that was certainly before Splinter Cell. Tried the newer one on PS3 and returned it immediately, lol. I guess I'm not patient enough anymore.

While not a download deal, its worth mentioning that Newegg is having a weekend sale on Assassin's Creed III. If you peorder it this weekend and use the dicount code EMCYTZT1964 it will only cost you $47.99. I doubt that it will be cheaper than that for quite a while.

I spent $19.99 on Saturday and got a Civ bundle with Civ IV complete (I had some of it) and Civ V GOTY, and a Stronghold bundle. Awesome deal and I have to thank Joph for starting and posting in this thread, and the rest of you who have added to it.

Stronghold was a great game; for me it's right up there with Shogun in total time spent playing. I got lost in it on Sunday and played on and off all day. If you've played it before you'll know what I'm talking about: at around midnight my adviser asked me if it wasn't time for a snack. A bit later he "advised" me that I'd been playing "for an awfully long time" and wouldn't it be a good idea to take a break. I, of course, as the Lord of the Manor, was screaming at him at that point to shut up and find something useful to do besides spending my money hiring the jester away from the traveling faire.

Yeah, I got that whole Lord of the Manor thing going now.

Glad I helped you spend some money Smiley: laugh

GetGamesGo is having a sale. The best bargains are repeats of what other sites have already had but Binary Domain is $9.99 and Darksiders & Metro 2033 are $4.99 each. I've seen numerous people say that Binary Domain was very underrated and is a great game for the price but I haven't played it myself. Those three are Steamworks titles but the other stuff on sale may not be.

GamersGate has a variety of RPG games on sale today. Silverfall collection, Elven Legacy collection, Titan Quest Gold and Two Worlds: GoTY edition. None of them are Steamworks.

I don't usually check any of the aggregators (steamgamesales, deals4downloads, etc). If stuff is boring for long enough I might just to scrape the barrel and see if there's anything out there.

GMG is good about sending out emails and tweets about their sales. Amazon is usually good about it as well and has a dedicated rep on some boards who talks about what'll be on sale and takes feedback. GamersGate and GetGames send out emails sometimes and sometimes I just look real quick to see what's up over there. Steam, for as large as it is, really kind of sucks at advertising outside of "Check the site". They send out tweets but their tweets are sort of jumbly messes. I'll admit to not religiously checking the dailies there because more often than not, it's some junk indie game no one cares about and after a week of that, I just forget to look.

I only really post about sales that seem interesting to me, which is part of why I don't bother with aggregators -- stuff is presented in a boring way and stuff gets lost in the list; I don't need to sift through twenty-five Magicka DLC sales and ten CiM DLC discounts to find the good stuff. Checking the sites I check only takes a few minutes anyway. I look for games I recognize or that have some buzz and that have either a significant discount or are new enough that any discount is sort of significant (i.e. 30% off God & Kings). Other stuff I tend to just pick up along the way, reading various boards.

Edit: Looking at that link reminds me of why else I don't bother with aggregators -- you get a bunch of stuff listed as "four days ago" or "three weeks ago". For the hassle of checking the site to make sure the deal is still active, I may as well just start by checking the site and seeing directly what sales are going on.

All that fascinating stuff said (I know you were riveted)...

GMG reminds you all that it's the last days to use the PARTP-ALCNO-TIESU code to get 20% off any item (doesn't stack with other vouchers).

Aside from saying for the -nth time that Darksiders* is on sale, I'll mention that CitiesXL 2011 is $4.98 which means it's $3.99 with the voucher. Or Borderlands 2 for $40 (too rich for my blood but better than $60 list). Or... ummm... Farming Simulator Platinum Edition for only twenty bucks!

*Darksiders is the new DE:HR

GMG is offering $7 trade-in credit on any (one) of their free give-away games from the last month or so when you buy Dark Souls: Prepare to Die edition.

They're going to offer a new game each day that you can trade in those free games for a decent discount against them.

Is there a limit to the amount of trade-in credit you can use? This doesn't look good for their profit margin.

Edit: Nevermind, looking at the page it seems you can only trade in one game to get the discount.

Yeah, just the first is worth $7. The others, if you try and stack them, are only fifty cents each.

I had already cashed in a couple of them for trade in credit that was sitting in my account. I think Disciples II: Gold was worth $3. With the 20% off voucher and Disciples II, I got Cities XL 2011 for 99¢. I figure I should get that much amusement out of it, at least.

Edit: Oops... Citieis XL 2011, not 2009. Not that anyone cares.
