The Summer Sale seems to have a few new features this year. There is a Community Choice sale, every 8 hours you can vote for one of 3 games to be on sale with the displayed discount during the next 8 hours. Currently the vote is between 75% off Saints Row 3, 66% off Witcher 2, and 66% off Arkham City.

Also there is a Flash Sale, which I guess is a couple of randomly chosen discounted games available for a short time. Currently it's Deus Ex: HR for $7.50 (yes again) available for 5 more hours, Rayman Origins for $15 available for just over 11 more hours, Spacechem for $2.50 (10 hours), and Mafia 2 for $7.50 (8 hours).

I missed those the first time, I also noticed ARMA II (Game required for the DayZ mod) is 20% off today. I'd wait though, have a feeling it'll be a daily special sometime during this sale due to the buzz surrounding it currently.

edit: Before someone buys the wrong thing due to me... its ARMA II Combined Operations you actually need, game plus the xpac.

GMG is doing another free game, this time Hacker Evolution Untold (versus yesterday which was just Hacker Evolution). Just like yesterday, you get an additional voucher for 20% a future game. GMG is going to be starting "Winter sale" discounts soon so you might want to snag one just to stack with that.

Everything on today's Steam daily I either own or don't have any interest in. Good day to be my wallet.

I voted SRTT because I got a free DLC pack for the game and would have reason to by the actual game if it's cheap enough.

If for some weird reason you haven't played Portal 2, it's five bucks. I can't think of a single sane reason not to pick that one up if you still need it. I've been waiting for this sale to pick up The Witcher 2, so I'm hoping that it will win the vote. I have a feeling that Arkham City will win though. If it does, I suppose I'll get it if it's cheap enough. It should make a decent consolation prize.

It may be a fun game, but it's also been on sale almost as often as Deus Ex. It would have been nice if something that doesn't go on sale frequently had won.

According to the Amazon rep, they're going to have SRTT on sale for cheaper in the near future.

Quote:
Just wanted to drop a note on SRTT. We're not matching because we're running either the same or a better deal (looking like a better deal) next week, so we don't want to match, drop price next week and have a ton of angry customers.

While not quite what you're looking for, The Bethesda Pack is a hell of a good deal. Skyrim, Brink, Fallout: New Vegas, and Hunted for $49.99.

Well that did not last long... Yoink SRTT

The ice is broken now. Let the buying begin!

I will totally pick up Trine or Limbo if they win next.

The VTOL was the most fun I ever had in the game. After I finished the main story I added a mod that makes Genki spawn more often and went hunting. Smiley: lol

It's pretty much impossible to not get $2.49 worth of good times from Terraria. They've added tons of content since the game first came out. The devs have since moved on to new projects but Terraria now is like twice to three times the Terraria back a year ago.

Or 4.99 for both Trine and Trine 2. It's my first purchase so far. I kept meaning to pick it up but never did, and for 5 bucks for both I might as well.

I have the the first Trine from one of the Humble Bundles, a fun game, but I kept getting annoyed with the controls. Part of that may be that I'm not using a gaming keyboard, so the response time isn't as fast as it could be for my key presses. I'll have to think about Trine 2. I did pick up Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 for $4.99 though. Right now Darksiders is also on sale for $4.99, which is a fairly good deal. I've been playing it lately, and it's pretty fun if you're into that sort of thing.

GMG officially started their sale. I didn't see anything that would make me say "OMG you have to check this out!" but They have Company of Heroes for $2.50, Darksiders and Metro 2033 for $4.99 each, etc. If you have the vouchers from the last couple of days, I guess you could get Darksiders for $4.00 and spend the extra buck at McDonalds.

People on Steam forums raging because an eight hour "flash" sale is unfair to people who were trapped in a well for nine hours (or who sleep on occasion). Smiley: facepalm

They're not true Scotsmen gamers if something like sleep gets in the way of their games.
