I don't have the patience for that. Did it in the beginning, but now I just rush ahead until I win.

The positive reinforcement from finding random goodies probably doesn't help killing that habit. :)

You can actually win in this game?

I don't want to say that there's a wrong way to play Skyrim. But this is kinda infinitely approaching one.

This was me, but instead of going into a house, it was heading to stop a dragon that was attacking a watchtower about 20 seconds away. Instead, I ended up running after a butterfly, jumping to try and catch it...

It's a bit disturbing how accurate I found number 5...

It certainly is. If anyone ever tells you that racism is dead, invite them to play MW online. Black Ops is probably the best example, what with its custom emblems (there are a lot more neo-***** out there than you might think).

But god, the game sure is fun.

Half are neo-*****, half are twelve year olds. There is some overlap between the two.

To be fair, the kind of racism you'll wander across during normal internet browsing is the type that's setting people back through stigmatization and the reaffirmation of stereotypes (e.g., gbaji).

When playing Modern Warfare, you'll hear racial and sexist slurs screamed like no where else but the deep south on polling days.

Argh! Ok, it's great that you don't need to recraft gear when you find something with a smithing bonus... but you do need to re-refine it with a workbench. Figures I find a +smithing item, refine all my dragonbone, and then find another piece. Now I can't find any dragons! This is my sad face Smiley: frown (technically, my frown face).

I also hate my choices for smithing. FYI, if you're not primarily a mage, go the RIGHT path, not the left. I hit 100, got dragonbone, and thought "Oh, I'll just spend my next point in Daedra for the best weapons in the game." No can do, sir. You can't go down from the 100 mark on the other side, apparently; if I want Daedra, I need to sink 3 more perks into smithing. UGH. Can anyone tell me what the best one-handed sword for Daedra is, refined? My Skyforge sword is currently like 55 attack (I know glass would be higher, but I like the enchant on my sword). Need to find out if it's worth it.

Also, alchemy seems to level agonizingly slow. Anyone have some tips for leveling quick? I find I can make cheap health potions with blisterwort + wheat and my +alchemy items, but the vendor in Whiterun only sells a few Blisterwort every few days.

I don't get Alchemy. I've made a million potions (yeah, I'm a flower picker) and chugged even more during my brief (an mildly unsuccessful) career as a mammoth poacher, but I've only gained a couple of skill-ups.

Also, boredom is starting to creep in. SnB and Archery isn't as fun as I thought it would be. I'm considering using cheap tricks (read: console commands) to "transfer" my perks and skill-ups to the magic skill trees.

Hmm kick *** swords must go up the Heavy armor side. My Orchish Sword was better than Skyforged. The Hero Nord swords from completing companion chain and burnign the old man on the skyforge. (Unlocks new stuff) are also better than that. My Ebony Sword is waaaaay better than that. So I'm guessing Daedric will be tops if there is no dragon sword. I have not unlocked the dragon armor yet becuase I already feel uber in Ebony for the most part, so I am enjoying it for a while.

Well, glass isn't far behind it. 4 Base damage. Once you start improving, that's going to be a drop in the bucket. AS FAR AS I KNOW, improving gear only cares about your skill in relation the gear level. That might actually give an edge to glass, since your skill relative to the skill needed to make glass will be greater than the comparison with daedric.

Of course, this is making some assumptions on the system that I don't have any solid reason to believe.

So, today I walked out of one of the inns in Riften to find a dead Thieves Guild member in the road.

He was on his knees, with the rest of his body bent all the way backwards, so that the top of his head was on the ground. He had a full set of dinnerware (plates, cups, and a candlestick) on his person.

Smiley: um

Daedric is the best. I actually just crafted my daedric bow and upp'd it to legendary status while under the affects of the 18% smithing potion.

Factor in the fact I have 4 pieces of gear that are enchanted with 13% archery damage, I'm almost at full 5/5 for damage perk in archery and my daedric bow is doing 117 damage now....

Once I can find some more smithing gear I'm going to redo my daedric bow and then work on getting some badass enchants for it. I honestly don't even care about light armor perks now I just want to see how much damage I can get out of this bow by pushing either my alchemy or enchanting. I'm thinking alchemy for some better smithing potions.

My daedric sword: 95 damage

What enchants should I put on it? Fire Damage? Absorb Health? Paralyze?

I found paralyze to be really really annoying, personally. It's all wonderful when it happens but when they're on the side of a hill or something and they're all like "DO A BARREL ROLL" down the hill I just couldn't handle it.

BTW: Anyone have a list of all the +smithing items. I know of the notched axe but what else is out there.

I just made my own smithing+% items. Without any enchanting potions, I have four pieces with +25% for a total of 100%. Used a +50% potion before I crafted upgraded all my daedra gear.

I got the enchantment from some random piece of gear an npc sold me.

+smithing doesn't affect the base armor/damage of your gear, it's when you up the armor/weapon when the +smithing comes into play.

EDIT: Totally unrelated you can actually disenchant your notched pickaxe and you gain the enchant "Notched Pickaxe"

Yeah, my roommates have been playing multiplayer, and the things I've been hearing come out of the TV speakers makes me think investing in a company that makes helmets would be a great investment.

You could argue that Skyrim is Generic RPG #482, being the fifth game in an existing RPG franchise and hardly the first open world FPS RPG to have hit the market.
But its differences(story and whatnot) are differences where it actually matters to the primary consumers of the game. I haven't found shooters to really change all that much in their multiplayer experience, which I'm pretty sure is what most people buy FPSs for.

You do quests, you level up, you kill dragons. If I didn't know this was about Skyrim, I'd put my money on World of Warcraft, Rift, Dragon Age, or any other of the million 'kill the dragon' RPGs out there.

And it's true that the primary focus of FPSs is the multiplayer experience and Modern Warfare is pretty generic there, except for the points system, the kill streak system, the unlocking of new gear and stuff and the graphics engine used...

Modern Warfare seems generic to you the same way a Modern Warfare player might find Skyrim generic. I'm sure a lot of non-WoW players could tells us just how generic WoW really is.

I'm the exception, of course. I've played everything and am able to raise myself above the masses of ignorance and tell the truth.

Obviously. Smiley: tongue
