Child of Eden, Anyone?Follow

#1 Sep 18 2011 at 6:00 PM Rating: Decent
So I picked this game up awhile back and was wondering what everyone else thought of it. I love the concept behind it and how it looks but I felt it could of used a few more stages. If it wasn't on sale when i bought it I would of been more annoyed by that. Still it does offer an amazing sensual experience.

I can't believe that they were asking for $60 bucks for it. Insanity.

I'm curious, but for a 3-4 hour game, I won't kick down more than $10-15.

It's definitely a game banking on the fact you'll want to play it over and over again. Which I did but not quite as much as let's say dragon age. Which at least takes 40 hours a play through.

Hmm. The unlockables don't sound super exciting to me. I'll pick it up when it's inevitably down to $10-15. For now, I'm already probably going to run myself broke on games this fall. Child of Eden can wait.

Tell me about it. Skyrm, Diablo 3 (as much as I dislike Blizzard atm), and Guild Wars 2 to name three off the top of my head are definitely taking higher priority over this game. Looks fun though, just not $40 fun.

The number of game releases in the next 2 months is absurd. There's also AC:R and Skyward Sword coming out. Thankfully I'm not an FPS fan, or else the list would be even longer.

I figured Skyward Sword was going to be released around January. I know I am going to have to make some difficult decisions on which games to pick up first this holiday season and which to wait on. Smiley: glare

Edit: Speaking of Skyward Sword, I was watching youtube videos of it and I came across this gem. Pretty dang neat if I do say so.

November is going to be an expensive month for me. Assassin's Creed, Uncharted, Skyrim, and Modern Warfare 3 all come out during the first two weeks.

It'll be Rage, Uncharted, Battlefield 3, Skyrim, and maybe MW3 for me.

It is all about the collectors edition.

X-Men: Destiny next week, two weeks later Spider-Man: Edge of Time, and then two weeks after that Batman: Arkham City for me.

Oh, and 15NOV is Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

Hmm I will probably pick up the collector's edition then. The soundtrack is ftw, not to mention I need to get a second controller.

I wish they'd release a PS3 game that came with a second controller... I just can't justify that cost, right now, with how rarely I'd need it.

You could always pick up one of those 3rd party knockoffs. They only explode once in a while.

I actually do have one of them. It's battery-powered and you need to plug in a usb drive to use it.

It's awful. XD

I really am not excited about Skyward Sword at all. The motion control doesn't just not interest me, it repels me.

I don't know, but this is the first Zelda game since the abomination of the Phantom Hourglass series that I'm pretty sure I won't be getting.

I would have been fine not playing any of the titles since Majora's Mask, actually. That was the last one I really enjoyed. Minish Cap wasn't terrible, I suppose. There were some okay puzzles. But in general I haven't been too impressed with any of them.

TP wasn't my least favorite by a long shot. But I played it on the Gamecube. I just don't like motion gaming, so it's no surprise that I wouldn't want Zelda to be motion-only.

TP was made for the gamecube, but was ported and changed to get some sales on the Wii. Skyward Sword on the other had is like the 1st true motion Zelda game. I'm not a huge fan of motion gaming, but that is because I never get to play the Wii without 3 kids popping up wanting "turns" (w/e the **** that is) so I don't get to play the Wii as much as I would like.

Also Zelda games have in a small way evolved to see where they fit in the Zelda Timeline (if you are a believer of it). This one is suppose to be the 1st in line.

I can't wait. X=Men and Spiderman also look pretty awesome as well. I still need to beat Shatter Dimensions >.>

Personally I am not like an "OH MY GOD ZELDA!" Person but I do enjoy the games and look forward to playing them. I played TP first on the wii and I really did enjoy it. The motion sensors came naturally to me and with the added fighting style like moves from the "Wolf" fit seamlessly into the controls for me. The motion commands were simple and rarely did I have a problem with it. Heck just basing the game on the game cube controls I don't think I would of used as many of the special commands if it wasn't for the motion controls. (Which had simple gestures for every single command.)

Although I can respect not wanting to be forced not using motion controls.

That's really my only problem. They can make motion controls to their hearts' content, but for some games (AKA, the games I actually want to play) I want it to be optional.

I just really dislike motion gaming (at least in all its current forms). I think motion elements can have a time and a place, and there have been times I've respected a game for making good use of the PS3's six-axis feature. I just don't like when it's too prominent (as it is with a system and games based around it).

Personally I play a cheaper game of the same category to see if I could deal with the motions controls for such a game. TP still quite expensive but You can pick up Okami or no more heroes. Okami doesnt have the best battle system(To show off motion controls) but similar game style as zelda. No more heroes has a better battle system to show off motion controls in sword play but has very little of anything else Zelda has to offer.

Just a suggestion.

I thoroughly enjoyed Okami, though there were times where the motion controls got wonky.

I'm very much looking forward to SS.
