All I'm trying to find out is if it's possible to use an 8gig flash drive to use as a storage device for the xbox360?

I have no need at the moment, but would an external hard drive work? How about for a PS3?

For the PS3 it does, but I'm not sure about a 360. I have a feeling Microsoft locked it down to their own accessories.

If it's any help, XBox forces you to format the USB stick to be used exclusively with the XBox. I would try out a HDD but I have the feeling it will either reject it or force it to be formatted as well.

Not sure who moved it first, but I moved it to general video game discussion.

You should move it again to the tech. support forums, just for fun.

Sorry I should have been cleared. Yes you can use a USB flash drive on a Xbox 360 but you have to format it a specific way. You can also do the same with an external hard drive. Xbox's website walks you through how to do it. I think there is a 16G limit, but I am not sure. The last time I did this was years ago.

If you have an old Xbox 360 hard drive mount you can replace the hard drive with a larger one. I have only put a 250G in because that was all I had at the time. There is a video somewhere that shows you how to do it.

Thanks alot to everyone for your help, but I actually found out for the newer xbox 360s (slim) you HAVE to have a HDD to play, so i'm kinda out of luck for a few days, until my HDD gets here. ;) thanks again
